Our Wedding

As we prepare to begin this new chapter of our lives, we’ve taken a moment to look back on the path that brought us here — one filled with unexpected beginnings, shared memories, and a love that’s only grown stronger over time. Our story began over a decade ago, back when we were teenagers at school. Rohan was standing by his locker, surrounded by friends, while Neha — walking past with hers — purposefully ignored him. That moment marked the start of a series of encounters that would slowly (and sweetly) shape our story. From walks along the River Tees during break time, bonding over daily Chicken Bakes, to belting out our favourite Bollywood songs, we found comfort and connection in the most unexpected of moments. What began as a light-hearted friendship quickly deepened, leading to our first official date —the viewing of The Theory of Everything followed by a very competitive arcade session. It was that day we discovered we shared something truly special: a nostalgic love for Star Plus dramas (yes, we bonded over Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon — a true sign from the universe). Time flew by, and before we knew it, we had celebrated ten years together — navigating long-distance love while juggling the demands of medical school and starting our careers as doctors. Through it all, we grew closer, learning, growing, and supporting each other every step of the way. Somewhere along the way, our shared love of travel took flight. From dreamy sunsets on the Nile to scuba diving in Thailand , we set out to tick off “30 before 30” — countries, not Forbes (yet!). These experiences have given us memories we’ll carry forever and dreams we’ll continue to chase together. As we prepare to celebrate this next milestone, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for the love, encouragement, and unwavering support we’ve received from our family and friends. Your presence — in our lives and on our special day — means the world to us, and we are truly blessed. The Sangeet is a joyful pre-wedding celebration filled with music, dance, and laughter which brings together both sides for an evening of performances, festive energy, and celebration of love. Expect vibrant outfits, Bollywood beats, and plenty of fun as we kick off the wedding festivities in style!

Haldi

The Haldi is a traditional pre-wedding ritual where a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, and rosewater is applied to the bride and groom by loved ones. It’s believed to bless the couple, ward off evil, and leave them glowing for the big day. Full of laughter, love, and a splash of yellow, it’s one of the most heartwarming and playful celebrations.

Mehendi

The Mehendi ceremony is a vibrant pre-wedding celebration where intricate henna designs are applied to the bride’s hands and feet, symbolising love, joy, and new beginnings. Surrounded by music, colour, and laughter, it’s a moment for the bride to relax, be pampered, and share in the excitement with close friends and family.

Vivaham

Vivaham is the Sanskrit word for marriage or wedding, and in Indian tradition, it signifies far more than just a legal or social union. Derived from “Vi” (special) and “Vaham” (to carry or undertake), Vivaham symbolises a sacred, lifelong commitment where two individuals come together not only as partners but as equals in duty, dharma (righteousness), and spiritual growth. Rooted in centuries-old customs, the South Indian wedding typically begins with auspicious prayers and rituals led by priests, followed by the muhurtham—the main wedding ceremony where the couple is united in the presence of family, fire, and divine blessings. We’re delighted to share that accommodation for all guests has been arranged at Jai Mahal Palace for the nights of 27th and 28th October 2025, ensuring everyone can relax and celebrate in regal comfort. Due to limited room availability at the palace on 29th October, a few guests will be warmly accommodated at a nearby hotel. Seamless transportation will be arranged and coordinated for those shifting hotels, so you won’t need to worry about a thing.
