Our story

The couple met on Matt’s 24th birthday celebration May of 2016: story has it that he wished for Neli as his birthday wish. Hey, a soulmate is hard to come by. If you ask Neli, she will also tell you that meeting Matt was an answered prayer. They began seriously dating a few short months after meeting. In fact, their first date in July of that summer went so well (Wednesday) at their movie & dinner meeting, that their second date happened just two days later, a second movie showing on Friday, quite the feat for a couple of young, mercurial even fickle millennials who loved nothing more than spending time with friends. 90s babies, if you know you know. They were instantly taken and knew that something special had happened when they met, they were magic as Matt called it. Infatuated lovebirds, by that holiday season, they’d met the parents, family parties increased by two, and they became inseparable, and even closer as the years went on, every emotion was felt deeply, every side seen, even though they’d only met recently during those times, it felt as though they’d known each other much much longer.

Upon their first meeting: what was seemingly just another summer night where two complete strangers had met by total chance, quickly turned into something much more special and significant! To quote a Calvin Harris song called Summer: “When I met you in the summer to my heartbeat’s sound, we fell in love as the leaves turned brown”.

And a favorite scripture “I have found the one whom my soul loves.” Song of Solomon 3:4.

Their love for each other only grew from there, and they actualized into adulthood from their early twenties and fun times at midtown, to buying their first home together, getting a fur baby, and another, and upward progression into their careers - meeting each other was the needed and meant-to-be catalyst for these two wandering free spirits.

The rest is beautiful history, full of growth, devotion, fortitude, love, commitment, and constancy over the years. Matt and Neli share a beautiful home where they love to host family and friends, their sweet tabby cat ‘Kitty’ and playful mini aussie pup Archie. They also share a love of music, a dislike for the same foods, shared quirky jokes and sense of humor, matching moles, a sweet tooth, and the preference for staying a quiet night at home over a night out. Their intimate ceremony will be held in Lake Tahoe in true spirit of the couple who loves to spend time outdoors, cherishes scenic quiet spaces, and frequently appreciates nature together. The next chapter and adventure together begins! ♥️ A continuation of love and promise to have & hold, for a lifetime.
