If you are coming into the area from way outside of town, take a nice stroll through downtown Waukesha. Full of little shops and standard stops for Guy and Nelsy, this little downtown has provided both with good coffee, great snacks, delicious dinners, and some memorable moments. Try out Waukesha Cafe House, Steaming Cup, or Mountain Top if you need a cup of coffee. Magellan's has fantastic piizza if you're craving a full pie. And People's Park has offered great rooftop view brunches and lunches for them. Feel free to give any of these businesses a chance while you have the time.

This particular attraction is meant for a longer trip. The museum boasts a beautiful collection of pieces from around the world and boasts beautiful views from the moment you walk into the front atrium and as you walk through the historical and modern pieces.

Located right beside the Milwaukee Art Museum, this beautiful memorial spans all of the wars involving Wisconsin service members. Hosting part of a beam taken from the Twin Towers, this monument honors those who sacrificed for where we are...

And it is a free tour to be able to escape from warm or wet weather.

Established in what was previously an old pump house, this local staple has good food choices and provides a great place to sit down outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of Milwaukee during the warmer months. Friday, and sometimes Saturday, evenings they will have musical performances depending on what your travel plans are around the wedding, this is the perfect place to wind down the day before your flight back, or if you have explored other great venues in the Milwaukee area.

From our first candlelight hike together, through many other escapades, this park and this tower have been present throughout our relationship.

Hosting miles of bikeable trials, a butterfly garden (somewhat shown in one of our engagement photo sets), and an observation tower that allows you to get a full view of lake country, this park is a quick drive up the road from downtown Delafield for those that are looking for the Gilmore Girls vibe, complete with an ice cream shop and several boutiques.

If you are already in the area, visit one of our favorite restaurants. A go-to for date nights, if you can make it during a weekday, their specials are always fantastic, and if you are in the mood for the right way to start a meal, their pinsas are light and easy to accidentally eat solo or as a group.

Nestled into its secretive location, this hidden gem is perfect for people looking to have a good time. For those that know where to look, you will find a good place to eat, drink, and be merry. More importantly, you get to learn all sorts of G14-classified type information.

Around Memorial Day, this place is normally packed out with pilots and air junkies. Hosting one of the biggest experimental avionics shows in the world, this place offers an aviation museum that comes close to the quality of the Smithsonian without the added headache of a trip to DC.

If you have the time to make this trip, it is definitely worth a visit to catch up with some of the locals, and if you are there on Memorial Day weekend, to catch what is likely to be a fireworks show you won't catch anywhere else.
