Things to Do

For our out of town guests!

Welcome to Sacramento and Placerville! Some of you may be visiting for the first time and there are many of things to do here!

The main signifier in these parts are our rivers, the Sacramento and American Rivers. You'll most likely see at least one of these when you come in and the reason is due to the California Gold Rush! It has shaped this area and it's neighborhoods for decades and there is so much to explore! First off, the American River Parkway!

Park at GRDC and find the paved path, this should lead you to the river access path! Once you're in the second part of the path, after the street, it should open up to the parkway! Have fun exploring!

Old Towns!

Old Sac

In the capital city, we have a charming little area called Old Sac! Full of historical buildings from the Gold Rush, there are endless stores and restaurants to explore. Along with many museums highlighting the Gold Rush and Sac's rise to being California's capital, there are endless things to see. On the edge of the river, under the Tower Bridge, the Delta King riverboat floats on the Sacramento River.

If you're a fan of Johnny Cash, check out Historic Folsom that's a few miles away from Folsom Prison. Sutter Street is smaller in comparison to Old Sac, but closer to the wedding venue if your looking for something with the same charm! Check out Planet Earth Rising or Snooks Candies and Chocolates!
