As God’s blessing allowed it, Ngoc and Steven first met at their mutual friend’s co-ed wedding shower by chance. Ngoc had a scheduling conflict the day of the shower, and Steven was stuck out of the country for work and could not get back in time. Last minute both Ngoc and Steven schedules aligned and both were able to attend and meet at the wedding shower.
Their first date was at City Centre and sparks flew as soon as they took a stroll after dinner and got gelato. Since then, they have been inseparable.
Steven’s proposal was planned out to the finest detail and Ngoc was totally surprised. Steven enlisted help from their friends and family to make the day a surprise and special. He got Ngoc’s girlfriends to convince her to go get their nails done together, scouted out the best place for proposing, hired a photographer to capture the moment and asked his friends to hide in the bushes to record the proposal. That night after church Ngoc and Steven went out to dinner at City Centre. Ngoc did not suspect anything outside of “why are you wearing a blazer in the middle of summer?” Steven didn’t say too much so she didn’t think much of it.
At dinner Steven seemed anxious and irritated as the restaurant had unusually slow service and he wanted to get to the proposal spot as the photographer was waiting. Steven even tried to skip dessert, but Ngoc insisted of getting the tiramisu. After dessert, Steven took Ngoc down the same pathway they went on their first date to get gelato, and by the center fountain he got down on one knee surprising Ngoc with his proposal.
