Traveling Questions
What is the best airport to fly into and will I need a rental car?
Please see our recommend airports to fly into, as well as their respective distances from Eureka Lodge, in the Airports tab on our website. A rental car is highly recommended due to the remoteness of Silverton and distance from the surrounding airports.
Lodging Questions
Where should I stay and where is the venue located?
Unfortunately, Eureka Lodge has a very limited amount of rooms for guests to stay in and these rooms are already reserved for family and the bridal party. However, we have numerous other lodging options located in Silverton, CO (about a 20-25 minute drive from the lodge) listed under the Lodging tab. Eureka Lodge is located at 6350 Co Rd 2, Silverton, CO. Guests attending the ceremony, but not staying at the lodge should park in the Eureka Campground parking lot. A car or ATV shuttle will be provided from there to the lodge.
I am part of the party that has a reserved room at Eureka Lodge, how do I confirm my booking and pay for my room?
Nicholas or Jenna will reach out to you to provide your room number and your contact for payment in the next few weeks!
Why do the lodging options in Silverton appear very far away from Eureka Lodge? Is there anywhere closer to stay?
During the winter/spring, some roads in Silverton are closed which makes driving routes appear much longer on Google or Apple Maps. Most lodging accommodations in Silverton are actually only 20-25 minutes away from Eureka Lodge in the summer.
Attire Questions
What should I wear to the ceremony?
The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal.
We recommend considering light, breathable fabrics and bringing a shawl, cardigan, or jacket for later in the evening as the ceremony and reception are outdoors. Please avoid overly formal attire as it may clash with the rustic setting.
Footwear should be comfortable for outdoor terrain and should be able to be worn in grass or on uneven ground.
Ceremony Questions
Will the event be indoors or ourdoors?
The event will be outdoors. The ceremony will take place nestled between the mountains and the lodge followed by the reception underneath a tent immediately to the left of the lodge. Please make sure you bring additional layers for your wedding attire in case it gets colder in the evening!
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
We ask that all guests arrive at Eureka Lodge prior to 4:30 pm to allow time for parking, shuttle, and socializing. All guests will be asked to be seated at 4:45 pm and the ceremony will start at 5:00 pm.
Where should I park the day of the ceremony?
If you are not staying at the lodge, you will park in the Eureka Campground parking lot located at 6350 Co Rd 2, Silverton, CO 81433. From there, you will be shuttled up to Eureka Lodge by car or ATV.
Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that you do not take photos or videos during the ceremony so that you can be fully present with us for such a big moment of our lives! However, photos before or after the ceremony are highly encouraged and welcomed! Our photo gallery--including all photos taken during the ceremony-- will be shared with all guests once received from our photographer after the wedding.
Reception Questions
What should I expect after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the immediate family, bridal party, and couple will be taking pictures around the ceremony site for about an hour. Guests are welcome to transition back to the lodge after the ceremony to start the reception with a cocktail hour where hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served! The reception will go from 5:30 pm to 9:45 pm.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please inform us of any dietary restrictions you may have when you RSVP for the wedding so that we are able to accommodate!
Medical/Safety Questions
What medical considerations should I keep in mind due to the altitude of the venue?
Eureka Lodge sits at 9,302′ above sea level, which is a relatively high altitude, even for CO. There are several medical considerations to keep in mind due to the effects of higher altitudes. Here are five important factors to consider:
1. Altitude Sickness: At elevations above 8000 feet (2400 meters), some individuals may experience symptoms of altitude sickness, including headache, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath. These symptoms occur because of lower oxygen levels at higher altitudes. If you're not acclimated to high altitudes, consider arriving a few days early to allow your body time to adjust. Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol to reduce the risk.
2. Hydration: The air at high altitudes is drier, and you'll lose more moisture through your breath and skin. Dehydration can exacerbate altitude sickness and cause fatigue. Make sure to drink water regularly to stay properly hydrated throughout the event. If you're drinking alcohol, balance it with water to avoid dehydration.
3. Heart and Lung Conditions: If you have pre-existing heart or lung conditions (such as asthma, COPD, or cardiovascular issues), be cautious, as the reduced oxygen levels can strain your system. It may be wise to consult a doctor before traveling to high altitudes to ensure you're fit for the conditions. If you experience any chest pain, extreme shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
4. Sun Exposure: At higher elevations, the sun’s rays are stronger due to thinner air and less atmospheric protection. This increases your risk of sunburn even in cooler temperatures. Wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and protective clothing, and take breaks in the shade to protect your skin from UV damage.
5. Clothing and Footwear: The temperature can vary significantly at high altitudes, and weather can be unpredictable. Even if it's sunny and warm at the wedding venue, temperatures can drop quickly, especially in the evening. Wear layers to stay comfortable, and opt for shoes that are comfortable for walking on uneven or slippery terrain if the event is held outdoors.
