Every great love story starts somewhere—ours began with a simple swipe. On March 9, 2024, fate—or maybe Bumble—decided to work its quiet magic. We both swiped right on Bumble, not knowing that single moment would change our lives forever and we’d just met the person we’d spend forever with.Just a few days later, on March 12th, Nick worked up the courage to ask Shannon out, and on March 16th, we met for our very first date. What was supposed to be a simple evening turned into hours of effortless conversation and laughter. The spark was undeniable.Our connection only grew stronger, and by our second date on March 21st, it was clear that something special was taking root. On March 30th, Nick asked Shannon to be his girlfriend, and our adventure officially began.A few months later, on June 30th, we said “I love you” for the first time. It wasn’t just words—it was a promise.Then, on August 24, 2024, we were ready to take the next step. Boxes were packed, keys exchanged, and we moved in together—turning a house into a home filled with laughter, love, and maybe a little too much takeout.A year later, on August 9, 2025, during a romantic getaway to Branson, Missouri, Nick surprised Shannon with a proposal at a little chapel on the grounds of the Osage Restaurant at Big Cedar Lodge. It was the easiest “yes” of her life. It was an unforgettable day filled with joy and love—the perfect start to forever.From a swipe to a promise, our journey has been full of laughter, adventure, and love—and we can’t wait to start the next chapter as husband and wife.

This hotel is conveniently located at the Legends about 20 minutes from the airport and just 15 minutes north of our venue, making it a great option for guests flying into MCI. There are also several other well-known hotel options nearby if you’d like additional choices. We’ve reserved a block of 15 rooms at a rate of $139 per night, available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the block fills up, we may be able to add more rooms—so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any trouble booking. Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Kansas City Lenexa/City Center

This is a brand new duel hotel currently being built just across from the SpringHill Suites. They are expecting it to be completed in June. Once it has been completed I will update with more information. Again this location is about 15 minutes south from our venue.
