It was 2014, Nick & I were starting our freshman year of high school. He asked me to homecoming and we went as friends. I told him I did not want a boyfriend at that time. He said “fine, I’ll wait.” And that’s exactly what he did. On November 10th, after he never gave up on dating me, I agreed I was ready to have a boyfriend. His persistence and commitment to me was something I knew was special. My only stipulation- you can never break my heart.


He promised.


Then, eight and half years later he got down on one knee and started by saying “eight and a half years ago I promised to never break your heart and I want to keep that promise for the rest of our lives”


I have never met someone as selfless and special as Nick. He is my best friend and soulmate. Ten years later, on November 9th, 2024 we will be married!

I’d say we actually first met in about second grade on the school bus. We’ve gone to the same school since the second grade. She claims I was mean to her on the bus, but she’s full of it! However, it wasn’t until freshman year of high school that I reached out to Aly. I wasn’t exactly sure how to start a conversation with her to show my interest, so I had to think of a way. And so my freshman self came up with a great plan. I was mowing the lawn and decided to send her a Snapchat of the lawnmower with the caption “Just mowing the lawn, what are you doing?” She responded and was confused. I responded with “Sorry wrong person… Anyway how are you?” And just like that, I got my foot in the door! After a couple months of persistent texts and conversations at school, we started dating and never looked back. We made it through high school, made it through college (3 hours apart), and now are ready to continue the rest of our lives together!
