Nick and Tess met at the University of Kentucky in 2015. They quickly became close friends and were each others cheerleaders during exams, student teaching and capstone projects.

After Nick graduated in December of 2017, he moved to Milwaukee, WI while Tess finished her last semester at UK. In May of 2018, Nick invited Tess to visit Milwaukee as a graduation gift. During this trip, their friendship turned romantic and by the end of the weekend Nick had asked Tess to be his girlfriend.

For the next year, they were long distance with Tess teaching in Boston and Nick working in Milwaukee. Thankfully, Tess's dad offered many Southwest points so they were able to visit each other once a month. After too many hours to count spent in airports, Tess finally moved to Milwaukee in June of 2019! They lived in their first apartment there, until they moved to Nashville in 2020. Nothing like a Covid move!

In April of 2022, Nick and Tess bought their first home together in East Nashville. They have loved having family and friends visit and exploring different restaurants.

Zayn was their newest adventure when they "foster failed" in June 2022. Z quickly stole Tess and Nick's heart even though he basically runs their lives now.

On June 30th, 2023 Nick took Tess for dinner and drinks at L.A. Jackson's rooftop (in 102 degree weather). Soon after arriving, Nick got down on one knee and asked Tess to marry him!
