As is much more common in our generation, but may seem foreign to others, we met online. However, as time went on and we got to know each other better, we realized just how close our lives had been all along. We learnt that we had gone to the same high school and were just a year apart, but had never met. We learnt that through high school and university, we had worked across the street from one another, Nick at Lyle Hallman Pool and Colleen at Food Basics, but yet we had never met. We learnt that we had both attended Wilfrid Laurier University at the same time, but yet still had never met.

We also learnt that our families had connections to one another - our mothers had both worked at high schools in the Cambridge area, and knew many of the same people. Both our families also had strong ties to the Niagara region, with some of them even having gone to high school together. Many of our friends were connected as well, with our best friends living across the street from one another.

All of these chances to meet and still we never had, until the perfect timing and what was meant to be. <3
