Nick and I met at Younglife Camp in the summer after our sophomore year of high school. Bottom of our memories: Nick: "I remember sitting outside the lodge at the adirondeck chairs talking with some highschools friends and seeing Leah. I think my exact words were 'This just feels different'. Little did I know what God had in store." Leah: "I remember playing tag on the wibit (an obstacle course) on the water. As we were playing I fell in between two wibits and was stuck and unable to get out. Nick came and lifted me out of the wibit, and I remember thinking he was cute and kind of sweet."

Towards the end of my senior year, I began to think about Nick again. I once said to a friend in my high school parking lot "Nick is the one I am sad that I said no to", wishing I could go back in time. As I was at the pig pen party freshman year, Nick slided up on my snapchat story of the party. I screamed!! We then began to talk for the next few weeks.

Nick and I reconnected on a Younglife college spring break trip at PCB! This is when my coleader AJ met Nick and sent me a picture. Leah's POV: Nick didn't talk to me for the first two days. But then I made the first move and said hi and he acted so surprise to see me, even though we texted earlier that day. But then the following day we asked to take a walk on the beach, so romantic. Classic Nick! Nick's POV: I knew going on this trip that Leah would be there. I was hesitant to make a move because of how many times I was met with a NO in the past. With some encouragement from some co-leaders (Shout out Gwen) I decided to ask her out one night before club. The rest is history.

We started dating in mid april and a month later he moved away for 3 months to Boston.

We moved to Pittsburgh for Leah to take a job with Younglife to do ministry on University of Pittsburgh Campus. We were now done with distance and only lived 25 minutes from each other! (at least we hoped without the Pittsburgh tunnel traffic)

Nick surprised me and made a joke back in August that we were getting engaged during Thanksgiving weekend. I was going home for what I thought was my friend's birthday weekend. My friend grace asked to take pictures by the water while it was POURING, this honestly made since for her, so I agreed. Once I saw Nick I was so surprised that I asked, "is it happening?". This was where we went on our second date, which is where I decided that I wanted to go on a third. Honestly one of our favorite dates!
