Meet Nicholas and Hannah

Nicholas Volesky (26) was born on Wednesday, November 1995, in North Platte, NE to Jerry and Teresa Volesky. He is their only and favorite child. Nicholas relocated to Logan, UT in 2018 to work at Utah State University Extension after graduating from the University of Nebraska with his degrees in Agricultural Science and Horticulture. Nick's hobbies and interests include gardening, playing recreation sports, playing board games, and watching reality television. One of Nick's goals is to continue his education and earn a master's degree. Hannah Wallentine (23) was born on Friday the 13th in November of 1998. Her parents are Jeffrey and Chari Wallentine, and she is the oldest of four children. Her three "little" brothers Max, Silas, and Preston are all taller than her even though she is 5'9". Hannah is an undergraduate student at Utah State University where she is currently in her senior year earning two bachelor's degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. If she isn't wearing her "teacher clothes" she is surely in leggings and a t-shirt. Hannah spends her spare time with her baby cat Olive, going on drives up Logan canyon, hammocking, doing crafts, playing the piano, singing, and watching Survivor with Nick.

Temple Sealing

Nicholas and Hannah's wedding day will begin with the sacred ordinance of marriage in a Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This will be a private and intimate event shared only with Nicholas and Hannah's immediate family. Life’s greatest joys are found in a loving family. This is so in spite of the many distractions and challenges of life. Building strong families requires effort. But such effort can bring joy in this life and through all eternity. Even in families where relationships are difficult, the gospel of Jesus Christ can provide hope, comfort, and healing. In our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness, a husband and wife can be together forever. The authority to unite families forever is called the&nbsp;sealing&nbsp;power. It is the same power that Jesus gave to His Apostles during His ministry on earth (<a href="https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/scriptures/nt/matt/16.19#p18" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Matthew 16:19</a>). An eternal marriage is therefore called a&nbsp;sealing. Children born or adopted into such eternal marriages can also be sealed to their families forever. We're so excited to celebrate our wedding with you with the main ceremony. Our close family and friends will have received a special RSVP card in the mail. It contains all the details you need to know about the ceremony and the schedule. Please see the RSVP page on the site to let us know if you can make it.

Dinner and Celebration

The dinner for our wedding will be for RSVP'd guests only. We wish we could invite everyone! If you can't make it and would like to support Hannah and Nick, feel free to reach out through text or phone call or get them a gift from their registry. After the main ceremony, we invite all our guests to socialize before the dinner and head toward their assigned seating. To maintain high moral standards there will be no alcohol served, instead, we will offer lemonade and other drink options.

Send Off

The festivities will come to an end with a celebratory sparkler send-off for Nick and Hannah as they begin their new adventure.

Our Story

Hannah and Alea have been best friends since junior high. They have shared many experiences together including a humanitarian trip to Bolivia, attending Utah State University, and serving at the same time as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Gilbert and Nick have been close friends since the first grade in North Platte, NE. Gilbert and Nick have participated in a lot of extracurricular activities and even shared an apartment for a year while attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE.

DeBryn is like a sister to Hannah. She has been a rock and support through many ups and downs in Hannah's life. She is always around with a listening ear and a kind word. Hannah loves being an aunt to DeBryn and Tim's two little girls.

Nick met Jacob while they both worked at the West Central Research and Extension Center in 2016. They shared a lot of agriculture classes together at the University of Nebraska. Today they both with cooperative extension in their prospective states and frequently collaborate.

McKenzie is like a sister to Hannah. She has a peaceful and beautiful soul. McKenzie is a friend, confidant and was a mentor to Hannah as a missionary. Hannah loves being an aunt to McKenzie and Tate's two little girls.

Bethany played a huge part in raising Hannah as a nanny to the Wallentine children for many years. She taught her lots of things and mostly just got to take the kids on adventures - driving them to karate, getting snow cones, making toast, and swimming in the backyard.

Hannah's brother Max married Fio in December! Hannah has loved sharing experiences in wedding planning, and gaining a new sister.

Hannah met Mikayla's husband Cody while serving on a humanitarian trip to Bolivia and adopted him as the older brother that she never had. He married Mikayla shortly after, and they have been Hannah's cheerleaders and advice-givers all the way from Alaska ever since.  Hannah loves being an aunt to their little boy.
