A Love Story Written in the Stars: Nicole and Nick's Journey

Nicole and Nick met while working at Zinburger in 2018. Nicole had just been hired and Nick was in charge of texting her to begin her training. Soon, Nick and Nicole became friends and Nick began inviting Nicole to the after work get togethers. In the following years, Nick and Nicole became closer and closer, peaking in the summer of 2019 when they began regularly hanging out. Nick began falling for her soon after. Come Nicole's birthday in 2020, Nicole reciprocated those feelings and by April 2020, they officially began their relationship. Their close friendship set the foundation for a fulfilling and loving relationship. Prior to dating, they both knew if they were to give this a shot, they would absolutely end up getting married. Throughout the next 3 years, Nick and Nicole began building a wonderful relationship and life together. The start of the relationship was similar to their friendship. They spent the pandemic eating sushi and Taco Bell while making new cocktails and watching Jeopardy and talking all night. Those nights never really changed over the years. They still watch movies and eat sushi while talking all night. They have spent time integrating each other into their family and friends seamlessly and officially became known as Nick and Nicole. The couple has fallen in love with traveling, having visited Mexico, Jamaica, Las Vegas, California, and more together. They have bonded over cooking, going for walks to look at houses, movie Tuesdays, and going to new restaurants. As Nick and Nicole moved on from college, they both earned their Master's degrees. Nicole would attend school in Connecticut while Nick would earn his remotely. Nick would take the 2 hour drive every weekend just for a few nights together. The long distance solidified their love as they often had emotional nights prior to Nick leaving. Once graduated, they both began their careers. Thursday night became sleepover night and the two would spend every weekend together. The start of their careers also represented the start of adulthood. The next few years offered tremendous highs but also the struggles of growing up and establishing themselves. They became stronger than ever and by 2023, they were ready for the next step. Nick and Nicole moved in their apartment together in March of 2023. Finally, they were able to spend nearly every moment together and build their first home. In May of 2023, they adopted their first born, a beautiful orange cat named Mango, who they've cherished every day since. The next step was for Nick to pop the question. Come April of 2023, Nick began planning his big move and decided that their 2023 summer vacation was the perfect time. Nicole found a beautiful emerald ring that she fell in love with and Nick was quick to make the purchase. On Mother's Day of 2023, Nick asked Nicole's father for permission to marry her and come August 18th, 2023 in San Diego, the two were engaged. Since then, the couple has adopted Mango's younger brother Simon and shared more wonderful memories together. They spent their first Christmas together as a family and have been saving money to eventually buy their dream house. September 12, 2025 marks the next step in their journey together.

Our Story

Nick and Nicole got engaged on August 18th, 2023 in San Diego at Sunset Cliffs. Nick took Nicole on a picnic to watch the sunset with a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers. Once he had the go-ahead from the photographer, Nick was ready to give the speech he intended to, but immediately got too nervous and blacked out. Instead he asked "Do you love me? Like really love me? So why don't you marry me?". At this point, Nick got on his knee and presented the emerald ring to Nicole, to which she thankfully said "Yes!"
