Like many love stories, ours came when we least expected it. But in order to truly understand our story, let's go back about 20 years.

Drew and I first met around 2004 when we were students at Crescent High School and to say we did not truly fit in with our classmates was an understatement. Drew was the guy with long black hair, quiet and wore all black and I was the girl who wore ties and button up shirts with short hair and eyeliner. And although we never hung out, we did know some of the same people. Drew graduated in 2005 and we went on separate paths in life. We both would grow up, marry other people and he would become a father to Zoe and Eli. We both ended up going into public service, he would become a detention center officer and I would become an EMT. So how did two people who managed to go to high school together, who had very little interaction with each other manage to find each other later in life, fall in love and decided that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together? Well here is the story.

In 2023, I went through a divorce and bought a house shortly after. Drew was at the beginning stages of his divorce and what do two people do when they are trying to get back out in the dating world in a society where technology has basically taken over? They turn to online dating and that's what we did...Facebook dating to be exact.

At the end of June 2023, I came across Drew's profile and remembered him as a former classmate and decided to swipe right, thinking there was no chance that he would remember me, let alone swipe right too. Yeah... I was wrong because he did swipe right and we started to talk and catch up on each other's lives. He asked me on a platonic dinner date only to realize he asked me out on the 4th of July and canceled. But obviously that did not stop us from talking because we continued to talk on and off via Facebook for the next two months until we decided to give the dinner another chance.

On September 10, 2023 we went out to dinner for the first time and that dinner turned into talking into the early morning hours of the following day. Two days later, we had a second date and after that, we spent every minute we could together.

In October of 2023, we went on our first vacation together and had an amazing time.

In November 2023, we celebrated our first "Friendsgiving" with our friends

We met each others parents and grew together as a couple.

In December 2023, we decided to move in together and we celebrated our first Christmas and New Years Eve together.

The following March, we traveled to Florida for a week where I met Zoe and Eli for the first time and I absolutely fell in love with them.

Then...we decided we wanted to do something absolutely crazy... we decided we wanted to get married and spend the rest of our lives together.
