NICK'S VERSION
I'd been online dating on and off for about a year and decided it was time to expand my distance parameters. Within 10 minutes, on Hinge, I found Amanda while hunting on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving 2020. The rest is well captured in a video I made Amanda but here are some highlights:
-We had good communication and tons of shared values and experiences from the start
-Things have only gotten better as we've grown to know and love each other and spend more time making memories
-Not once did I doubt the relationship and its direction
-I'm very excited to build a family and hopefully a legacy with Amanda.
AMANDA'S VERSION
As we all know, in March of 2020 COVID hit and everything and everyone was locked down. I had been attending one of the biggest churches in Western New York and still wasn't finding a husband. I finally gave in to my older sister’s long standing suggestion to go on a dating app and made a profile on Hinge. After 8 months of actively being on the app, I received a notification on November 25, 2020 that a man name Nick D'Angelo commented on my profile. The prompt on my profile said, “I’m looking for someone who loves Jesus, enjoys good conversation and a shared sense of humor.” Nick’s comment was, “All unequivocally vital!” And I must say, our proceeding conversation, and our relationship, has lived up to that. We exchanged numbers within hours and the next day, on Thanksgiving, we made plans for our first date. Needless to say, we haven’t slowed down since.
If you know Nick or I, you know we are very intentional people. We are intentional with our family, our friends, our church, ourselves and our relationship with Christ. That’s what I love most about Nick. He’s the “Jesus-loving, hunk-of-a-goofball” that I’ve been waiting 15 years for and I can’t wait to not only marry him on May 14, 2022, but start building a life of intention together that honors and glorifies Christ.
