It all started at our young adults Bible study group. Throughout our friendship we began to find ourselves being drawn to each other. When Halli was younger, she made a list of traits she hoped to find in a Godly man, and she had spent years looking for someone who she felt was a good match for her. Nick had also set a high standard for the woman who would one day be his wife, and he too was praying to find her soon. As we got to know each other more and grow in our friendship, we were continually surprised with how many boxes on our lists were being checked off before we were even dating! Being together began to feel more and more natural. We’ve admitted to each other that before we started dating, we both had times where we almost held each other’s hand on accident. Nick eventually realized that he couldn’t live without this girl in his life. On August 27, 2023, he finally worked up the courage to ask Halli out and discovered that she had arrived to the same conclusion about him quite some time earlier. So we decided to “give it a try.” Next thing we knew we were on our first real date and so nervous we ate a total of three bites of our lunch. That anxiety didn’t last very long though, we quickly found being in each other’s presence very comforting. For the next 12 months and 17 days we spent our time together cooking food, dancing in gazebos, going on walks, working on homework and pottery, markets, and falling madly in love with each other. We are continually amazed at the ways the Lord prepared us for each other and how well he has orchestrated our story.
On September 13th, 2024, Nick asked Halli to marry him in the very same gazebo where we shared our first kiss. We are beyond excited to commit our lives to each other on May 3rd.
