Q + A

Can we bring our children if they are not on the invitation?

As much as we adore the children of our friends and families, we’ve decided to keep our wedding an adults-only celebration. We would also like to give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears. We politely request no children unless specified on the invitation.

How do I add a plus one if there is not a spot to add one?

As much as we’d love to include everyone, we have to be mindful of our our carefully planned guest list and our venue’s capacity. Because of this, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding and your support as we plan our special day, and we can’t wait to celebrate together!

What does the dress code mean?

Formal wedding attire includes a suit jacket and tie, a traditional suit, an elegant dress or a nice pantsuit would also be appropriate. You can also experiment with trendy jumpsuits, a suit with a colorful jacket, bold accessories, or an appropriate cocktail dress. Please avoid casual clothing articles like jeans, shorts, golf polos, sneakers, etc. For inspiration, check out this Pinterest board: https://pin.it/4ochB7sHw

Are there any colors we should avoid wearing?

We encourage our guests to wear any color they feel most comfortable in! However, we kindly ask to please stray away from dresses that are extremely pale in color and all shades of the white family. This can include white, cream, ivory, eggshell, etc. This will also include patterns or prints that heavily favor white. This color will be reserved for the bride and the bride only. You will be asked to change or leave the ceremony/reception area if this is disregarded. We hope you understand this decision.

What can we do between the ceremony and reception?

There will be an hour to an hour and a half gap between the ceremony and reception. This time will be used to reassemble the ceremony area into the reception. During this break, the wedding party and immediate family will use this opportunity to take photos to capture this very special day. As for guests who are not in the bridal party or immediate family, you can use this time to explore the great downtown area of Grand Rapids! Check out the "Things To Do" tab for inspiration! You are also more than welcome to return to the hotel and kick back until cocktail hour begins! Please note, cocktail hour will be held immediately after the reception area is set up and dinner is to follow.

Will there be an open bar or cash bar?

This is the wedding of Dallas and Nick, of course there will be an open bar! The bar will be open from the beginning of cocktail hour and final call will be at 10:30 pm. The bar will be closed for special moments like the bride and grooms first dance.
