[Written by Kelly Sharpe (Stephanie's sister/Maid of honor)]On August 11, 2012, the first day of college, Nicholas James Rahimi saw the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on: the blonde beauty with the bright blue eyes named Stephanie. But he soon learned he was utterly friend-zoned, since Stephanie was dating another man.He decided to move on with his life and spent his free time lifting weights. He too began dating someone else for nearly two years.During those two years when they were each dating other people, Stephanie and Nick had the unique opportunity to grow in friendship. By living in the same dorm and working together on the RA team, they were able to chat every day. But this also meant that they had to ignore the electric spark they felt whenever they accidentally brushed hands. Regardless, they grew closer and closer as time passed.It was finally October of 2014, and they were both single. Nick knocked on Stephanie's door to ask for a stapler. When Stephanie realized that he could have easily gone to the front office to use the public stapler, she knew everything had changed.One week later, Nick knocked on her door and peaked his head in and asked Stephanie to get ice cream at their favorite place: Potbelly's. Was it a date? Was it just friends hanging out? The crimson blush on their faces throughout the evening confirmed that the connection between them had become more than just friends. Stephanie and Nick became official in November, and they happily dated for a year. They continued talking about marriage and just knew that they had each met "the One." Little did Stephanie know that Nick had arranged to meet Mr. Sharpe to ask for his permission to marry his oldest daughter. She kept trying to predict when Nick would propose and had a hunch that it would be during winter break. When she shared these feelings with Nick, his response was, "Just look good every day this break." He ended up proposing on December 21st at Mundelein Seminary where they had gone for a prior date. It was a beautiful proposal with music, candles, and pictures. Afterwards, there was a surprise party with their close family and friends to celebrate the newly engaged couple.It was a very special day for the couple, and they are counting down the days until the wedding! They truly have a relationship based in friendship and genuine love, and their wedding day is going to be beautiful.~Stephanie &amp; Nick ~ June 17, 2017~

Hampton Inn Muskegon

This Lodge is 2 minutes from Lake Michigan and offers a variety of cozy rooms. There are several suites that sleep up to 6 people with a private bath. There are also rooms that include 1 Queen bed and a shared bathroom for $150 per night.

Khardomah Lodge

This Bed and Breakfast in located downtown Grand Haven. The rooms are about $235 nightly and there are 8 rooms.

Boyden House

This Bed and Breakfast is located in Grand Haven on a hill overlooking the State Park. Rooms are $160 per night and up.

This very nice Bed and Breakfast has rooms from $140-$185 per night.

Washington Street Inn

The Hampton Inn is 30 minutes south of Spring Lake Country Club and rooms are priced at $219 a night.

Campsites range from $31-$33, plus the purchasing of a "Recreation Pass". All campsites are right on the beach of Lake Michigan. Please book your site in advance because this is a very popular camping spot.

This hiking path leads you to a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. This trail is not handicap accessible because of the numerous amounts of stairs.

Rosy Mound Natural Area, Grand Haven, MI, United States

Downtown Grand Haven has many stores, restaurants, ice cream shops to visit. A trolley provides transportation around the downtown for $1 a ride.

Enjoy a walk along the boardwalk overlooking the channel downtown Grand Haven. The boardwalk starts downtown Grand Haven and extends out to the lighthouse.

The musical fountain show is held every night and is scheduled to begin at 10:10pm on June 16th and June 17th. The musical fountains are located on a hill overlooking the channel, and spectators can sit on the bleachers located right on the channel by Harbor Drive. If you have additional time, Founders Brewery is located in Grand Rapids, about a 35 minute drive from Grand Haven. Tours are offered at the Brewery and food and drinks are available at the restaurant.
