Nick snapped this picture on the first night we met. Two college freshmen, just getting settled into life on campus.
We instantly became close friends (secretly crushing on each other) and stuck together through our first couple of years at NC State. Sharing a major in chemical engineering, our classes overlapped quite a bit. Many long nights were spent on the silent floor of Hunt library studying and completing homework sets. Many of those nights inevitably ended with Nick talking me off the ledge when I was in full panic mode contemplating changing my major. There was no work without play though! We always managed to squeeze in some fun too.
Eventually junior year rolled around. I accepted a co-op in Kernersville, NC for the spring semester and Nick accepted a co-op in West Point, VA for that summer and fall. You know what they say - distance makes the heart grow fonder! We made our relationship “official” in February of 2018 and it has been one adventure after another since!
We went on lots of trips (we’ve visited 17 national parks together in the past 5 years)
We got our sweet, goofy, and a little bit wild dog Finley (aka Fin Fin, Ninney, Nina, Finney Winney) in September 2019. There hasn’t been a dull moment since!
We quarantined…
We graduated (via Zoom) in May 2020!
We bought our first home in January 2021! Merry Christmas, happy anniversary, happy birthday and happy Valentine’s Day to us for 30 years!
We got engaged!! During our trip to the Amalfi coast in May 2022, Nick proposed on the beach of Positano!
We can’t wait to tie the knot in the presence of our nearest and dearest in May, 2024! There is no us without all of you 🤍
