Please join us at the brides family home - 276 Gibb Road, Metricup, WA - for a very casual barbecue where our family and friends can meet before the big day. Sunday, April 19 2026

HALDI

The Haldi ceremony is a pre-wedding ritual celebrated with family and friends, where a turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom to bless them with good luck, glowing skin, and protection before the wedding.

What can I expect? 

Welcome drinks upon arival, then the pundit will say some prayers for the couple, family members apply the haldi paste to the bride/groom’s face, neck, shoulders, arms and feet. Then the couples friends will help apply the paste.After some photos, guests can help themselves to refreshments. We will be serving an assortment of canapés of both Indian and Western backgrounds, tea and coffee, small selection of wine as well as a signature cocktail and mocktail.

Dress code 

Indian or western semi-formal in all sunset hues - think light summertime linens in shades of yellows, orange and peach - Indian attire preferred

Wedding day 

Nicki and Jai are so excited to be celebrating their love with family and friends! Blending their backgrounds and traditions, they’ll be holding both an Indian ceremony in the late morning and a Western ceremony in the early afternoon, honouring the beauty of each culture and the joy of coming together as one. It’s a celebration of love, laughter, and connection, they can’t wait to share it with everyone who means the most to them.

Things to do in the Margaret River Region 

While you’re here for Jai and Nicki’s big day, why not make a trip of it? Here are some of their favourite things to do in one of their favourite places

Margaret River is known for their great wine and their chocolate factory! With a play area for kids and all the free samples you can stomach, I think everyone needs to visit.(Nicki loves the pistachio delight from the cafe)

The Margaret River Chocolate Factory

Head into a stunning chamber deep beneath the heart, descending through an ancient sinkhole, past towering karri trees, to the floor of a sunken forest. Enter the cave, where a tranquil lake awaits. But fair warning, during your 1 hour tour you will definitely hit your step goal for the day

Watch the fudge being made and try samples off all the strange flavours you can think of, from honey macadamia to chilli chocolate.

Margaret River Fudge Factory

It’s the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere extending to almost 2km and makes a great walk, or train ride. Located on the Busselton foreshore, along with bars, restaurants and probably the coolest toddler park we’ve ever seen, it’s a fantastic spot to spend an afternoon.

The Margaret River region is known for its great wine and its craft breweries, if you are coming to the region there are a few places that the happy couple deem as a must-stop. Swings and Roundabouts, Vasse Felix and Xanadu wines are Nicki and Jais top 3 wineries in the area, however if you want to leave it to the professionals, thereare so many wine tours to hoose from. Our favourite breweries we think you shoukd try, without a doubt, would be The Beerfarm (or personal fav), Rocky Ridge Brewery and last but certainly not least, Wild Hop Brewing Co.

Bella retreat
