Believe it or not Nicky and James met online through a dating app called Ok Cupid. Nicky was terrible at keeping plans and James was adamant to meet her. They connected on common interests like photography, hiking, traveling and movies. On their first date Nicky was late (as always). James waited patiently for her to arrive. They met at coffee shop called Loop and after taking a brief ‘tour’ of Tremont they went to Barrio for tacos. They continued to date and fell in love. Nicky introduced James to the other man in her life- a stubborn corgi named Benson. At first, Benson was displeased with the new man in his mother’s life. However, within time James won Benson over with treats and cheese and James became his ‘papa’. Within less than a year they moved in together. They adopted and took care of an abandoned kitty named Flerken. They survived and quarantined together during COVID. In September of 2023, after nearly five years of dating, James proposed. He proposed at the first park they ever went to together Holden Arboretum. Nicky happily accepted and now they are ready to make it official. James and Nicky are excited and grateful and cannot wait to celebrate with everyone.
