Nicky and George met during what they call “high” Covid. While they would both agree that they don’t really have a so-called meet cute; Nicky will embarrassingly admit that they did in fact match on Hinge first but she got intimidated by his extensive knowledge of midwest Emo and ghosted. Thankfully a few months later they would rematch on Bumble. On this attempt Nicky would send a silly Office GIF and George would follow up with a goofy “Hey Boo” sheet ghost GIF.

Due to Covid precautions they did a month or so of virtual dating before their first in person meeting! They created a ritual of grabbing a drink and watching things like Taskmaster and The Princess & the Frog over Zoom. Neither can pinpoint the date of their first virtual date. But on July 5th 2020 they decided to meet up at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Both were so nervous that aside from a leading hand to the back in an attempt to quickly escape one of the exhibits in which a man–thinking he was alone–ripped the greatest of farts, there wasn’t even a hug. The next week they would go to Stan Hewitt and explore the grounds! The date night ended with a DoorDashed dinner and a request for a kiss from George. The rest, as they say, is history.
