Nico and Rachel met at the University of Minnesota Duluth through Chi Alpha Campus Ministries. While they were both involved in Chi Alpha their freshmen year, it wasn't until their junior year when they started hanging out with a mutual group of friends. They continued to stay close through this group of friends in the following year of college.

While Nico had been planning to stay in Duluth to do an internship with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries after graduation, Rachel was also planning to stay in Duluth after graduation to pursue her MBA at the University of Minnesota Duluth. It was only a few short weeks into their fifth year in Duluth that Nico asked Rachel on a first date to Love Creamery. They officially started dating in October of 2021, albeit a little later than Nico would've liked. The rest of the year in Duluth was spent growing together in their relationship before individually moving to the Twin Cities where they have been for the past year.

It was on a trip to Duluth this past summer that Nico proposed to Rachel on the shore of Lake Superior at sunset. While Rachel had been thinking it might happen that weekend in Duluth, she never expected it to happen that day. It made for a beautiful night that will be hard to top.

Nico and Rachel cannot wait to celebrate their wedding day with you all on June 30, 2024!
