Our Wedding

Nicola and Skyler met in 2019 when they were both working as paramedics for BCEHS in Castlegar, BC. They became good friends quickly as they worked together but also realised they had similar hobbies such as hiking, swimming, being outside, and particularly enjoyed being at the lake. Castlegar was the perfect outdoor haven, located on the beautiful Arrow Lakes, they needed to connect first as friends. During the summer, they spent almost every day together whether at work, at the basketball courts, or on an adventure. Skyler knew first he was interested as more than friends and pursued Nicola until she agreed to an official first "date" at the local Castlegar movie theater to watch The Lion King. Nic &amp; Sky proved their love was stronger than distance when they spent 7 months long distance as Skyler returned to school in Burnaby and Nicola traveled to Africa. They knew that if their love made it through that, it could make it through anything. Since being back in the same place, Nic &amp; Sky have both pursued nursing careers and graduated together in spring of 2024. When not studying, they fill their off time planning and going on adventures like exploring Banff, canoeing lakes, rivers, and the ocean around BC, traveling to the Caribbean, Mexico, New Orleans, Disney World, and Alaska (where they got engaged). With careful and secretive planning, Skyler planned a beautiful and romantic engagement for Nicola during their 10 day paddling trip in Glacier Bay, Alaska. It took place on a black sand beach in front of the John Hopkins Glacier. Skyler planned a game (with help from Nicola's brother &amp; sister-in-law) where Nicola would be blindfolded and Skyler would direct her to a secret location. When Nicola found the secret champagne bottle, she removed her blindfold, turned around and found Skyler was on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage. They cooled the champagne on 1000-year-old ice from the glacier and celebrated this new chapter of life, together. Nic and Sky are so excited to have you as friends and family. They know they would not be where they are as people without all those that have influenced them and helped them along the way. They cannot wait to celebrate their love and love story with you along side them this August.

Yarrow

Yarrow is a quaint small community nestled between Chilliwack and Abbotsford. The venue backs on to the South Side of the Chilliwack River. Just up the road about 10 minutes drive away is the famous Cultus Lake. Cultus Lake is home to beautiful beaches, waterslides, golf course, and campgrounds. Would highly recommend visiting if you plan to stay for the weekend.

ACCOMODATION

If you wish to stay overnight close by, there are a few options.The closest accommodations will be through Air BnB in the town of Yarrow.Cultus Lake campgrounds are beautiful and lakeside or the Vedder River Campground is closest to the venue.The Vedder River Inn is the nearest hotel just 10 minutes away.

If this is your suit jacket, chances are, you have the wrong one. Please double check you have the correct one and contact us if you went home with the wrong jacket.
