The Tea Ceremony is a tradition where the newlyweds serve tea to their parents, in-laws, and elders to show respect, gratitude, and welcome each other into their families, symbolizing the union of two households. The couple kneels, serves tea; in return, elders offer blessings and gifts like red envelopes (hongbao) with money or jewelry, signifying their approval and good wishes for a happy, prosperous marriage.
