ATTIRE - What is "Black Tie Optional"?
Men's Options:
A tuxedo is perfectly acceptable, but a dark suit and (any colored) tie are also appropriate and encouraged.
Women's Options:
Floor-length gowns are encouraged, especially in nicer, more formal fabrics (silk, satin, chiffon, etc.). Per Google, dark colors are typical however the bride and groom are happy to see you in any vibrant colors that you love and that make you feel beautiful.
This will be a Western-style of "white" wedding, however if you prefer to wear formal Pakistani style formal-wear (e.g. salwar kameez pantsuits, sari) that will also match the dress code!
Flexibility:
The "optional" part of the dress code allows guests to decide how formal they want to be.
Sophistication:
Even with the flexibility, the overall tone should be formal and elegant.
Occasions:
Black tie optional is often used for weddings, galas, and other formal events where the hosts want a touch of elegance but recognize that not everyone owns or wants to wear a tuxedo.
