Whats the address of Stone Barn?

STONE BARN, Near Upper Windrush, Gloucestershire, GL54 3RF

What time should I arrive?

Wedding day guests should start arriving at Stone Barn from 1 pm onwards, and preferably seated by 1.15 pm (prior to the Bride's arrival). Please note that no drinks will be served prior to the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 1.30 pm. Evening guests should arrive from 7.30 pm. Please see the Wedding Day page for further details.

Is the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Yes, the ceremony and wedding reception will take place at the beautiful Stone Barn.

Is transport to and from the venue arranged?

Guests should arrange their own transport. Directions are available on the Travel page, as well as a comprehensive list of Taxi companies, which should be pre-booked well in advance for departure no later than 1 am. Please remember to avoid the village of Aldsworth if leaving after 11 pm.

Is there parking available on site and can I leave my car overnight?

Yes, there is parking for over 100 cars at Stone Barn. You can leave your car overnight, but these must be collected by 10 am on Sunday morning.

Why must I avoid driving through Aldsworth?

We have promised to keep all the wedding traffic away from the village of Aldsworth, as it is on this condition that Stone Barn is allowed to operate. Please see the Travel page for further directions and a printable leaflet to show your Taxi driver.

Do I need to book accomodation?

Yes, we recommend you book your accommodation as soon as possible. There are plenty of options to suit all budgets within a 10–15 mile radius on Booking.com and AirBnB.

Can I stay at the venue?

FREE camping (campervan or tents) is possible at Stone Barn, including access to indoor toilets. The barn will be locked at night but the brides room door, to the right of the car park steps, will be left open so campers have access to the toilet facilities. Campers will also need to depart by 10 am on Sunday.

Can I arrive the day before?

Absolutely! The local area is very beautiful and well worth an extended visit. The wedding party will be attending a pre-arranged dinner on the Friday evening.

What is the dress code?

There is no strict dress code, but we recommend delightful dresses and splendid suits. Stone Barn has underfloor heating and is very toasty inside, but you may want a jacket if you head outside to roast a marshmallow at one of the fire pits in the courtyards.

What footwear should I wear?

Stone Barn and its outside courtyards have solid stone floors, so any type of dancing shoes can be accommodated.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be conducted indoors. The outside grounds are beautiful and we will have fire pits roaring in the courtyards, so we hope to also venture outside during the reception, weather permitting.

Is the bar cash or card?

The bar is card only.

Is it a paid or open bar?

Drinks will be provided during the reception, toasts and wine during dinner. There is also a fully stocked bar where you can purchase your own drinks, including some special Mr and Mrs cocktails on offer from us. The venue have informed us that it is not permissible to bring alcohol onto the premises to consume, including in the carpark (alcohol gifts are allowed).

Are children allowed?

We have a number of friends and family with wonderful children, however we have chosen to have an adults-only wedding. We hope this gives you the opportunity to have a night off and let your hair down!

Can I bring a plus one?

Our celebration is strictly RSVP only, we will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

Can I share my photos on social media?

Out of courtesy for the evening guests, we kindly request not posting pictures to your socials until the evening or Sunday. We will also share a QR code with a link to upload all of your high resolution pictures – we can't wait to see them!

What is the food and can I choose in advance?

The food will be a big highlight – you will have the opportunity to see food being prepared and even chat to the chefs! You will not choose meals in advance, although please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements. We will ensure there are sufficient options for vegetarians and/or vegans. We will also provide evening food from approximately 9.30 pm.

I have a dietary requirement

Please let us know any dietary requirements you have well in advance. This should be done at the time of RSVP, but please contact Thomas or Nicole to confirm if needed.

Can I request a song?

Reach out to Thomas or Nicole know if you have a song request, and we will try our best to add to the playlist.

What if I can no longer make it?

We understand that circumstances change, although you will be missed! Please let us know as soon as possible if you can no longer make it so we can offer your space to one of our evening-only guests.

A note from the venue...

We are not inviting children, but perhaps this information is useful for unruly adults as well ;-) Parents and guardians should be aware that children should be kept within your sight at all times. Please exercise caution around indoor open fires, outside fire pits, flares, lanterns & traffic in the car park. These things are not monitored by Stone Barn staff & can be dangerous for unsupervised children. Please do not let them climb the trees or the traditional dry stone walls as the stones can be loose. Please keep your young children with you during meal service times as they can pose a hazard to waiting staff. For your own health & comfort please do not top up the inside fire or fire pits.

What is the post-wedding brunch?

We have booked a private area at the The Bull at Fairford pub (GL7 4AA) on Sunday 1st December from 11–2.30pm, for an optional post-wedding debrief and brunch. We completely understand that many of our guests will need to depart earlier on Sunday, so please do not feel any obligation to join. We have arranged a buffet, so we kindly request that you update your RSVP to let us know if you will stay for food, so we can order the right amount of food for everyone. The function room will be open from 11 am, but alcohol can only be served from 12 noon. The buffet food will be served at 12.15 pm.

Where can I park for the post-wedding brunch?

The Bull Hotel is located at Market Place, Fairford GL7 4AA. There is parking right outside the front of the pub (the town market place, not actually owned by the pub). If these spaces are occupied, you can also park on the Church side of the high street (there are parking charges on the opposite side), as well as a large car park at the top of the high street, just a few minutes stroll from the Bull hotel (Fairford car park, Mill Lane, GL7 4JJ).
