We remember well... Here's Our Story

Her version:

Nicole here :) As many of you know Nick and I risked our lives and met via Bumble during the pandemic. This was during the early stages of my residency and when Nick was working nights in law enforcement. We both love tennis, live music, dogs, and really connected right away. We watched the animated Grinch on our first date, on 12/20/2021, which Nick was hesitant about because he felt Jim Carey's Grinch is/WAS the best. But, he took the chance and my word for it. Since then we really became inseparable. On 02/25/2023, Nick proposed to me during a long weekend in Florida. He found a waterfront restaurant and had everything planned. We were there for one of his friend's wedding and it was the following night. I was completely, COMPLETELY surprised. He was sobbing and at a loss for words when he got down on one knee, but luckily the key lime pie had a chocolate heart on top that read 'Will you marry me?' We have it all on video from and some great pictures. I can remember that night so well and all the feels from it. Thank goodness I said yes to dessert that night ;). I always knew I would marry Nick from the night I met him. He brought flowers, and treats for my late pup, Coco. Who does that unless you're my person?? We have so much fun together and are so excited for this wedding as we have family and friends coming from all over. We have been through a lot the last few years but we are so happy to be on this side of things and can’t wait to celebrate with you all.

His version:

We met during the great COVID Epidemic in December of 2020. I swiped right on Nicole because she was a beautiful, animal loving, veterinarian who played tennis and we shared similar loves for live, original music.

We chatted on Bumble for a while until Nicole pulled the trigger and gave me her number so her coworkers wouldn’t see the Bumble notifications and ask questions about her new boy.

Being the overprotective and safety conscious police officer that I was, I offered to meet Nicole on FaceTime first, so she wouldn’t feel too unsafe. Setting a relationship norm, Nicole was running late and rushing from a long day saving puppies, so she spent the FaceTime call laughing at my stupid jokes and munching on ravioli.

Our first date was decided by each of our strong opinions about which Grinch movie was the best. Nicole thought the animated movie with Benedict Cumberbatch was better and I stubbornly thought the live action Jim Carrey film was superior. I learned on day 1 what takes most men a life time to figure out… she will always be right and I never looked back.
