Just a PSA:
We have a few people who either have asthma, or artificial scent triggered migraines in the wedding party, including the bride. Please go light on your perfume/cologne for the evening in order to make it enjoyable and safe for everyone.
Are children invited?
To allow the adults to enjoy the evening fully, we do ask that children be left at home, except for those specifically included in the wedding party.
Is this an Indoor or Outdoor wedding?
Indoor, but there is a string-lit alleyway if you need to catch a breeze between dances!
What is the dress code for the wedding?
Semi-Formal. If you want a pretty summer dress or just some slacks and a button down, do it. If you want to go full formal with a beautiful dress or tux, DO IT. Just no jeans or ballgowns, please! And of course, don't forget your mask for dinner and the reception!
Can I wear a kilt?
ABSOLUTELY. The groom will be in one and we encourage all who have them to wear them. How many other opportunities do you have?! Also, ladies, if you want to wear a jumpsuit, highly encouraged!
What colors are we working with?
If you are looking to coordinate (not required by any means), the colors of the wedding are black, sage green, eucalyptus green, and copper/rose gold.
What kind of Masquerade are we talkin'?
Think more Carnivale, less Carnival.
More Phantom of the Opera, less Mardigras.
More Bacchanalia, less Halloween.
Ancient, ethereal fantasy.
Will there be alcohol?
Yes. There will be an open bar with liquor, beer, wine, and spiked seltzers. Mixed drinks only. No neat drinks or shots.
Can we bring in outside alcohol?
This one is an absolute no, unfortunately. We are in Johnson County, and liquor laws are strict. Outside alcohol is an automatic $500 fee.
Can I bring extra people?
Please do not bring any one not listed on your invitations. We have planned catering, alcohol, and desserts based on our guest list.
What time should I arrive at the venue?
Doors will open at 3:40pm, with the ceremony at 4pm.
What time do we need to be out of the venue?
Last call will be at 9:15pm, and we would need everyone out by 10pm in order to get the venue cleaned up and turned over.
Can I take pictures during the ceremony?
We have a professional photographer, so we ask that phones/cameras remain put away for the ceremony itself.
Ok, fine, but I'm taking pics during the reception. Where do I send them?
Absolutely! Reception photos are welcomed and encouraged! All wedding photos can be sent to hargiswedding2024@gmail.com. We ask that no photos be posted to social media without the approval of the bride or groom.
Is there a different registry?
Yes. I was unable to figure out how to link it, but we also have an Amazon gift registry. https://www.amazon.com/wedding/share/adorkablehargis
Is there anywhere we can stay nearby?
There are limited rooms available at Hotel Lotus for Saturday 9/14 for $99. They must be booked by 8/24/24 to get that price. See booking instructions below.
