Nicole & Landon

Saturday, June 21, 2025

Our Story

It was a hot Saturday in the middle of June - the sun was shining and there was serendipity in the air. While Landon was carting his dog Francine around town for errands, Nicole was feeling a unique urge to take a rare trip to the car wash. Inconveniently, the car wash closest to Nicole’s house was closed so she had to make the trek a bit further to the Go Car Wash down the road. Spoiler alert - Landon’s errands brought him to this very same car wash. All roads lead to Go, apparently.

The car wash was packed, but Landon found a spot to vacuum the car next to a stall with a pretty young lady - Nicole, obviously. Landon, of course, was oblivious to this young woman. Nonetheless, he tied Fran’s leash to a partition pole between the parking spaces and began to vacuum. Nicole was mostly captivated by the adorable dog, but also by the tall man wearing the same sneakers as her. She petted every inch of the dog but alas Landon was too focused on his vacuuming to notice. Ten minutes passed and Nicole refused to budge - it was time to make a move. As Landon finished vacuuming, Nicole pulled out the best line she could think of - “Hey, nice shoes!” Thus began an hour-long conversation in the sweltering June heat which culminated in the exchanging of numbers and setting a date for the following week.

The two quickly fell for each other over tacos and margaritas, marking the beginning of the pair’s relationship. They learned of their shared love for dogs, cocktails, food, and biking. All the while, their two dogs Calypso & Francine became inseparable and, to this day, offer the family non-stop entertainment. Landon & Nicole were so sure of their love that not 10 months after they met, they bought a house together in Merriam, KS. An engagement followed the year after on a summer day filled with bowling, cocktails, nachos, and a sunset walk on their favorite trail.

They eagerly await their wedding day on the summer solstice in 2025 - exactly four years and two days after they met.
