Nuestra Historia

It was Thanksgiving 2022, and I had crashed my now-best man’s family dinner. Jon and his wife, Keaton, had spent part of the evening asking about my dating life, which at the moment was rather stagnant. Keaton came out and said, 'We want to set you up with someone! She’s from Austin, went to Anderson High School, and loves Jesus.' Based on my limited information, which was partly inaccurate, I was excited and thought, 'Why not?' They gave me her number, and a few weeks later we planned a date.

A truly blind date can go any number of ways. This one went the right way. Although we each had some pretty significant misinformation about one another (Nicole still wishes I was an Aggie), we got things cleared up and began going out regularly. Tennis, pickleball, dinners, hangouts with friends led us toward one another. I was drawn to her bright, joyful spirit and her very real and tangible relationship with Jesus. Nicole was just so fun, and I guess I made her laugh enough to keep her around. We became friends fast, and I did just about all I could to spend time around her.

Months went by, and our relationship grew. Skiing with her, playing games with her, going to weddings and concerts with her. Being together was delightful. It was effortless with Nicole, and I started to realize we had something really special. We prayed constantly for clarity, and pretty soon, I started to plot a proposal, and the plan was set in motion. Accompanied by our parents and the two beautiful couples that matched us up, I asked Nicole to marry me on a mountain in Colorado. She exclaimed, 'NO!' but thankfully, this was just an expression of shock. She really meant yes, and here we are!

We’re so grateful for all of you joining us for our special day. Our story would not be possible without your love and support in our life. See y'all soon!
