We met at the University of Central Oklahoma as graduate assistants in the fall of 2012 and worked together until spring 2014. We became fast friends, always pranking each other and being goofy. I moved to Fayetteville, AR, and Simon stayed put. Simon took a job a couple years later in Fayetteville, AR, with GE Appliances and reached out to me for a beer. We hadn't talked in a couple of years- life taking us in different directions. We caught up that evening; it was good to laugh like that again. Then quite a bit of time went by before we hung out again. This time- as roommates! I lived with Simon while I looked for an apartment I could afford, and we filled the time with talks, movies, and many laughs. Fast forward to February 2017 and we went to a Blink-182 concert- me living on my own, and Simon as my friend. It was a blast! Soon after I told him "I like you, so you can ask me out on a date if you want." He made dinner reservations for the following Friday and we've been together ever since (May 2017). He's my soulmate, my best friend, and the person I get to do life with! yay! :) (As told by Nicole)

I wanted to propose to Nicole somewhere in the outdoors where we enjoy spending our time. We decided to go to Mount Magazine State Park in Arkansas for a weekend camping trip. We went for a hike Saturday morning and explored the park. I kept searching for the perfect spot to ask Nicole to marry me. I knew we had found the spot when Nicole let out a gasp when we pulled up to an overlook. When I got down on one knee to ask her to make me the happiest man in the world, she thought I was joking until I pulled out the ring. She went to grab the ring before answering the question. HAHA! Of course she said yes because you're here. (As told by Simon)
