Our Wedding

It all started back in high school. Nicole ran cross country her freshman year and became friends with Cici—who just so happened to have a twin brother. That twin was Quinton, the cutest guy she’d ever seen in the hallways, and she had the biggest crush (without even meeting him yet). The following summer, while Quinton’s family was on vacation in Puerto Rico, he messaged Nicole on MySpace to meet up. The plan was set: Nicole’s stepbrother Ronnie (her unofficial Uber at the time) drove her to the Luquillo Towers, while Quinton—under strict parental rules—had to bring Cici along. They finally met by the rocks on the beach, with Quinton’s parents peeking from above to keep watch. That first meeting felt like love at first sight (high school style). Over the years, life carried them in different directions. Their paths crossed here and there—college visits, concerts, even hurricanes—but the timing was never quite right. Still, they always seemed to find their way back to each other. Years later, after not seeing each other in forever, they decided to meet up in Nashville. Nicole flew in from Puerto Rico with just a carry-on, Quinton came from Austin, and what was supposed to be a quick catch-up turned into something more. Nicole ended up skipping her return flight and buying a ticket to Austin instead—just to spend more time with him. From that moment on, they were inseparable. Quinton proposed years later on a little wobbly dock at his family’s lake property in the Adirondack Mountains. It was just the two of them—awkward, perfect, and so them. Now, they can’t wait to celebrate their wedding surrounded by both of their Puerto Rican families—and all the people who’ve been part of this long, winding, beautiful story. ❤️

Attire

We recommend booking an airbnb for the most reasonable lodging cost. Hotels are quite pricey for this time period. However, if you wish to book a hotel, the Courtyard Marriot Isla Verde is the closet to the reception venue and the airport.

TRANSPORTATION

Rideshare companies such as Uber and Lyft are readily available around the area. Rental cars should be booked well in advance. During peak times, rental companies do run out of vehicles in Puerto Rico. Rental Car Considerations: Check that your lodging accomodations have available parking and if there is a fee. Potholes are very common around Puerto Rico and can sometimes be quite large, drive with caution. Gas stations require you to pay inside and will hold your credit card before filling up (there is no option to pay at the pump). This is a normal and safe practice across the island. Fun fact: distance is measured in kilometers, but speed limits are measured in miles per hour. Gas is priced by liters.

Travel

Old San Juan is home to the San Juan National Historic Site, with buildings dating from the 16th century, including the San Felipe del Morro and San Cristóbal fortresses and the old city walls. The Bautista Cathedral houses the tomb of Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León. Brightly colored houses line cobbled streets and shady plazas, alongside cool cocktail bars and renowned Caribbean fusion restaurants.

Historic Significance&nbsp;El Morro is a 16th-century Spanish fortress commissioned by King Charles I of Spain and completed in 1787. It stands on a steep headland, guarding the entrance to San Juan Bay and the city.&nbsp;Strategic Importance&nbsp;It was built to defend San Juan from naval attacks and was considered one of the most formidable Spanish forts in the Caribbean.&nbsp;It also served as an active U.S. military base during both World Wars.&nbsp;UNESCO World Heritage Site&nbsp;El Morro is part of the San Juan National Historic Site and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.&nbsp;Cultural Symbol&nbsp;The iconic garitas, like the one seen in the image, are widely recognized symbols of Puerto Rico.&nbsp;

El Yunque National Forest, located in Puerto Rico’s lush northeast region, is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Though it covers just under 29,000 acres, stretching across several municipalities, it is one of the most biologically diverse forests in the world. Towering trees, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant wildlife make El Yunque a natural treasure and one of the island’s most beloved destinations.

Vieques is a Caribbean island off Puerto Rico's eastern coast. It's known for boat tours of Bioluminescent Bay (or Mosquito Bay), where microorganisms give the water a blue-green glow. It also offers secluded beaches and snorkeling. Wild horses roam the countryside, much of which is preserved as the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge.(Travel by ferry).

Culebra is a small, sparsely populated island and surrounding group of cays off the east coast of Puerto Rico. In the northwest, Flamenco Beach is a long crescent of white sand and turquoise water backed by tree-covered hills. Nearby Tamarindo Beach offers clear waters full of fish, sea turtles and rays. In the southwest, Punta Melones Beach is known as a viewpoint for dramatic sunsets.

La Placita de Santurce is a must stop for anyone visiting Puerto Rico. The location was founded more than 100 years ago as a two-tiered market square. The market was a place where people could buy fruits, vegetables, meat, and much more. Nowadays, during the day it functions as a market place with some open restaurants. In the evening, beginning at 6:00 pm, the famous Placita de Santurce fully comes to life. You'll find recognized restaurants and local kiosks that sell fried foods like empanadillas, alcapurrias, and bacalaítos. The atmosphere is livelier from Thursday through Sunday, when locals flock here to hang out, have drinks, and dance salsa.

⚠️ Important Safety Warning ⚠️ La Perla is extremely dangerous despite its colorful appearance near El Morro. The area is heavily controlled by criminals, and violence against outsiders (especially Americans) is common. Even local police avoid entering.For your safety, please do not enter La Perla under any circumstances.
