Our Wedding

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Ricky and I&nbsp;would have never thought we'd end up together after briefly meeting each other in a restaurant&nbsp;called&nbsp;Margaritas back in&nbsp;2014. Just a short breeze of a "hello" would turn into a relationship 4 years later... 

&nbsp; &nbsp; A Friday night with&nbsp;no special plans in store,&nbsp;my friend and I had headed to&nbsp;the Natick Mall. After strolling around for a short while, she [and I]&nbsp;had gotten an invite to&nbsp;Margaritas, which was right down the street. I can say I&nbsp;wasn't too prepared for that environment because, I of course,&nbsp;was wearing workout clothes;&nbsp;my Nike pants and a v-neck, but&nbsp;I had&nbsp;figured,&nbsp;"why not? We'll just&nbsp;stop in on the way home."&nbsp;There was a group of people there that I&nbsp;didn't know, the only one I&nbsp;had heard of before&nbsp;was Ricky Diamond because&nbsp;him and his group of friends used to hangout with these older girls I was friends with in High School. So, low and behold, it was then that I met him, for the first time,&nbsp;allowing&nbsp;me to&nbsp;put a name to a face.&nbsp;And all it happened to be was&nbsp;a simple "hey" - and that was it. 







&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;...Probably a year later (we&nbsp;can't seem to remember how long it was exactly), I&nbsp;was standing at the bottom of New Castle Road with the two kids I nanny'd for,&nbsp;Maddie and Cam, at our lemonade stand. Some guy had driven by on a motorcycle,&nbsp;looking&nbsp;back at me halfway down the main street, which was a&nbsp;site that&nbsp;I'll never forget. Obviously disguised by helmet,&nbsp;I&nbsp;hadn't a clue who it could have been.&nbsp;&nbsp;As I wondered who it was, he also&nbsp;wondered who I was -&nbsp;if I was the&nbsp;red head he'd met at Margaritas.&nbsp;So of course, I received a&nbsp;message, on whatever social platform asking if I&nbsp;was selling lemonade. &nbsp;Undeniably, it was me. Neither of us remember much after that, though, but&nbsp;we wouldn't be in touch again&nbsp;for 2 years or so.

How We Met

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A few years later, that guy on&nbsp;motorcycle&nbsp;decided to message me again mid-summer completely out of no where:&nbsp;"hey stranger, how have you been?" I was honestly&nbsp;caught off guard since I hadn't seen or heard from Ricky since the lemonade stand, almost 2-3&nbsp;years prior.&nbsp;&nbsp;To make a longer story short, we chatted here and there.&nbsp;&nbsp;I was &nbsp;resistant and he was&nbsp;persistent,&nbsp;and I could never begin to explain how&nbsp;happy I&nbsp;am that he was. He had&nbsp;said back then as he still will say now:&nbsp;"I&nbsp;had to, I&nbsp;just knew it was you."

Fast Forward

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Both Ricky and&nbsp;I&nbsp;were surely into each other, we ventured to Newport for a day, watched old-school&nbsp;90's cartoons, took rides on the motorcycle, had date nights in Boston, and even booked a trip to Aruba. Yes,&nbsp;Aruba! We left early on a Thursday morning for what would be an amazing long&nbsp;weekend. One night we dressed up and went down to the resort's restaurant, surrounded by nothing but&nbsp;water fountains and scenery, we obviously devoured&nbsp;our meals and at the end, to our surprise, the waitresses brought out a "Happy Anniversary"&nbsp;dessert. Obviously by assumption, we were flattered and laughed it off.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Now, I think we can call that&nbsp;a&nbsp;foreshadow.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; That fall, we fell for each other, more and more. Ricky was living in a little cottage on Elliot Street in&nbsp;Ashland, which we look back on now and remember all those fall nights that our relationship really started to flourish. The little, old kitchen we cooked so&nbsp;many meals in (our favorite thing to do) and even ate absurd desserts that would feed a herd of elephants. We'd go to Stow (quite often)&nbsp;to get apple cider donuts.&nbsp;We went to parties and met &nbsp;more family and friends. We'd go to the muffin house every&nbsp;Saturday morning which was the start of our weekend&nbsp;ritual.&nbsp;&nbsp;We just couldn't&nbsp;get enough of each other.





&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; That thanksgiving, Ricky met my extended family for the first time. We ended up taking the reins in the kitchen, and he impressed not only my parents but my grandmother, and boy, I'll tell yah. "Nicole! He's it! He's the one!" my Nani had said. So, our&nbsp;happy anniversary&nbsp;dessert and &nbsp;instant grandma approval, was the icing on the cake.

Then to Now

One of Ricky and I's first dates was at Ashland Reservoir. He&nbsp;had asked me if I wanted to go for a hike and that we'd&nbsp;stop for a picnic. Getting to know each other, one of&nbsp;the vital details about me that&nbsp;I&nbsp;had to make known&nbsp; was that I&nbsp;have this weird love for&nbsp;trail mix. Yeah, yeah its a typical "hiking snack" but he knew it was my favorite.&nbsp;We walked&nbsp;out to a big rock that overlooked the lake, sat down and he pulled out a bag of trail mix and apples. And this was when we truly began to open up to each other. It became a special place for us, although we don't go too often, we walk around&nbsp;the res&nbsp;when we can. 

So, on the night of September 28th.&nbsp;We stood there, looking out on the water and&nbsp;he got down on one knee, just the two of us, he asked me to marry him.

The Holiday Inn is right across the street from the Coonamessett. We have blocked 20 rooms for Fri/Sat of labor day weekend. There is a 2-night minimum stay during this time of year!
