There are a couple of minor league baseball teams that play in the Portland area- the Portland Pickles and the Hillsboro Hops. They play games, there's beer, it's fun.

There's a zoo. It has animals.

There are gardens- the International Rose Test Garden and Japanese Garden are pretty cool. The Rose Garden is free.

If you're into hiking, there are some cool waterfall hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. If you feel like battling crowds and you score a permit you can go to Multnomah Falls. If that's not your jam, Latourell Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are also in the Gorge and tend to be less busy (you should still go early though). [Friends of the Gorge Find-a-Hike Website]

There are museums. In July, the Portland Art Museum will have a special French Modern exhibition.

There are tons of great places to eat and drink. Some of our favorite places are Bar Bar, Eem, Matt's BBQ, Interurban, Screen Door, Old Gold, The Bye and Bye, and Victoria Bar.
