Some connections are meant to blossom at a specific time and place for reasons unbeknownst to us (Ecclesiastes 3). Awaiting these beautiful connections can take radical patience and faith. This was certainly the case for Brice &amp; Nicole.&nbsp; They were two students at the University of Delaware with two entirely different lifestyles and backgrounds, trying to navigate college life. In a chance conversation, they met near the Trabant Center and hit it off quickly. They both had early classes and became breakfast buddies, frequenting Perkins for their student discount (IYKYK) and grew close with conversations around music and life. Their connection flame seemed to burn out as they departed their college days and started their respective lives apart. Both Brice and Nicole didn’t end up mustering the courage to voice whether they had feelings for one another before they went their separate ways. As they both found a footing in adult life, Nicole’s path grew more serious than Brice’s. Through the years following college, they would still see each other from time to time as they both worked in the city, but the Market Street rendezvous were simple “hellos” and exchanges about how life is going. They would also occasionally share social media quips, but quietly assumed that the time they shared at the University of Delaware cemented in the past. That was, until one day, about a decade later, the University of Delaware homecoming festivities were approaching, and Nicole wasn’t going to go if she had to attend alone. She was in a period of life transitions and wanted to connect with comfortable and familiar friends. Nicole reached out and asked Brice if he planned to go and if he would hang out with her so she could enjoy the events with an old friend. At that point, Brice realized this could be his only chance to secure “the one that got away” so many years back, thus, the “boomerang effect” began. Brice and Nicole have been inseparable ever since! They threw the love to the sky and waited 10+ years, but that love returned. A “love boomerang.”&nbsp; Boomerang:&nbsp;“a bent or angular throwing club typically flat on one side and rounded on the other so that it soars or curves in flight” especially “one designed to return near the thrower”&nbsp;“Love is a boomerang that returns to the thrower's hand.” — Austin O'Malley

Starting at 10am, we plan to have a bunch of guests meet us at the Starboard in Dewey on October 5th (the day after our wedding). This is open to whoever wants to come out as it is pay-your-own-way. Grab a coffee, mimosa, or a bloody mary and let's keep the party going! We also plan to watch the Eagles vs Broncos at 1pm ET. Rep your team, even if you don't bleed green - we want to see your team represented! But as always...GO BIRDS!
