Almost six years is a lot of time to fit into a short story, but here we go...

We actually have Dylan's mom to thank for bringing us together. Back in January of 2018, she was talking to my friend & amazing bridesmaid Logan about wanting to find someone for her son. Logan quickly sent her my way. I still remember standing in my classroom listening to Dylan's mom tell me how her sone was one of the nicest people I would ever meet and that he had a three year old daughter. When I went home that day, I looked him up on Facebook and knew I had to talk to this guy. Soon enough, I got a message on Facebook Messenger and we haven't looked back since.

Fun Fact: The first time we met was while I was during my planning period and while Dylan was on his way to work. He brought me my all time favorite Diet Coke and Reeces. From that moment on, I knew he was a keeper! ;)

I still remember the first night I met Eleanor. Dylan was extremely protective of his little girl and wanted to make sure we were a sure thing before I was introduced into her life. One night, he invited me over for dinner while she was at his house. I was even more nervous to meet Eleanor than I was the first time I met Dylan. When I walked into his house, there was this little girl peeking around her daddy's leg. After a couple of minutes, she decided I was okay and asked if I wanted to play. Later on that night, Dylan and I were sitting on the couch when El came out of her room and yelled, "I love you!". I replied that I loved her too...because how could you not love that sweet little girl and she instantly put her hand on her hip and said, "I was talking to my daddy!". It's something that she still brings up today and thinks is so funny.

Fast forward a few years and a ton of memories, from adopting our cat Oatmeal, through a global pandemic, buying our first house, getting our dog Brantley, and adopting our cat Peanut to July 2023.

Dylan began talking about wanting to visit Cleveland before summer was over and told me we should go at the end of July. He asked me to book the hotel room and told me he would handle the rest. Originally, we were going to leave July 21 in the morning to attend the Cleveland Guardians game that night, but one night when Dylan got home from work, he told me he got a promotional email from the team with the tickets we got to be able to tour the field on the team's off day on July 20th. I of course said we should absolutely go.

While we were packing, Dylan told me I should dress nice for the tour, which I thought was a little odd, but went with.

Once we got to the field, I told Dylan his face was super red and asked if he was okay. He told me that it was just from the car ride...turns out he was just nervous!

When we got to the team shop, we met up with our tour guide and I realized that we would be getting a private tour, which was shocking to me because I thought we'd be with a large group of people. Throughout our tour, we got to see the press box, the upper level suites, and the home plate suites. Our tour guide took us on the field right behind home base and Dylan asked for a picture of us, which I though was weird because Dylan HATES getting his picture taken. After the first one, Dylan turned to me and got down on one knee. To be completely honest, I blacked out and can't remember anything other than him asking for the honor of making him my husband. Being proposed to at Progressive Field was a dream come true and I can't think of a better way Dylan could have asked me to be his wife.

2024 is about to be our favorite year, not just because we are getting married but because we got to meet our sweet baby girl, Avery Grace Lamb on May 16.
