The day we met
HER SIDE: Is it crazy I remember the first day I saw him?!?? I was coming into work and saw this guy walking to a booth with Mr.C I remember thinking damnnnnn that guy is hottt, I hope he doesn’t get the job lol!!! Once he started…he was very quiet and shy and I remember thinking Nevermind he isn’t hot anymore he’s weird 🤣 I left for a few months to help another Capital Grille and when I came back he was one of our top servers and as I got to know him, we actually became friends. I would give him advice about girls and he would listen to me complain about men. He would talk to me about his daughter and I admired his hard work and determination. He would go out of his way to help me and every time I came to work he would twirl me around and give me a hug. I would always think to myself he was the perfect height because every time he would hug me it felt like I fit perfectly. I eventually grew a secret crush on him, but as his manager I had to remain professional. Over the years, my family would make comments that I should date him, but I didn’t tell anyone about my crush.

The first date
HER SIDE: I finally told my friend Melissa that I had a crush on him after I left TCG. She tried to get me to go for it and for years and I said no. One day while Melissa and I were at happy hour she convinced me to send him a message on Facebook. After a few days of messaging him back and forth I told him we should grab a drink sometime. The next day we went to lunch and we were inseparable for about a month. After a month it was getting very serious a little too quickly for me so we took a step back. Two months passed and I just couldn’t help but feel like I had made a mistake. I wont ever forget what he told me when I said we should take a step back.
“I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes.”

The pup
HER SIDE: One day Chris and I were on the couch watching a movie and he said you know how you and I have always wanted a dog. I just said yea and?! He then shows me a picture of puppies on a Facebook page and said should we get one? I screamed and said yes! I grabbed the phone and told him which one I wanted. That same day we bought him and planned to pick him up a couple of weeks later. The day Vader came home he walked up to me and cuddle in my chest. He played and walked with him the entire day until he passed out from exhaustion. It was such a beautiful and happy day.

The Move In
HER SIDE: He basically spent every day at my apartment, and I would dread when he would have to go home. We got in a fight one day and he said he was going home. I remember thinking this is his home. The next day he came back over and we talked things through. We decided we belonged together and wanted to take the next step and move in. A few weeks later he moved all of his things in and it was official!

The proposal
HER SIDE:
I woke up and Chris had gone to the gym so I called him and he was very short on the phone. I was surprised since it was our second anniversary that he wasn’t in his usual happy mood. I got up and decided to go try to find a new outfit for our date. I called him after I was done getting ready to see if he was almost done with the gym so I could at least say hi, but he seemed off. I just thought maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I got home from the mall to get ready and he was home getting ready, but wasn’t talkative. He said he was going to walk Vader before we went to lunch, which wasn’t unusual. When he came back from walking Vader he was in a rush to head to lunch. He said he would drive and pulled up to the rough rider stadium saying he had to run in and pick something up before our reservations. I told him to hurry up and run in because I was really hungry. He asked me to come in with him and I said no 🤣 he finally convinced me. When we walked in a gentleman greeted us and asked while we were here if we wanted a tour. Chris said yes and I grabbed his arm and shook my head no (I was hungry). As we walked on the field all I thought was we are going to miss our reservation. He started snapping his fingers and I turned around to see Vader running to us. When I looked back at Chris, he was on one knee. He said we may not always hit a home run, but we will always make it to home plate. He said I was home to him and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He had tears in his eyes and I just started crying. He took a ring off Vader's collar and said he loves me. It was such a beautiful moment and I was overjoyed. I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
