We have not reserved a hotel block yet, as many guests are booking airbnb's on the lake.

However, this is our recommended hotel, as it is fairly new construction and the rooms are in great condition and is known for good customer service.

Other great options: Hilton Garden Inn, Fairfield Place, Towneplace Suites. These three are all next to each other. If hotels begin to book up and you need to ride share with other families, this could be helpful.

The Hampton Inn is the only decent hotel in walking distance to downtown Gainesville. If you travel like Nicole (would rather save money and sacrifice quality for location), this would be your pick. Local dining, retail, and coffee houses in walking distance to the historic square: obviously a win.

If you travel like Auntie Kathy and Uncle Russ (quality matters!) book the Hilton Garden Inn or Holiday Inn Express, and drive to the square for a visit instead!
