Our Wedding

Maret and Nicole met on August 28, 2021. Nicole was waiting in line at Wild Goose Tavern when a group of friends (led by Maret, of course) cut the line to join them. Nicole introduced herself to Maret, and all of their friends were shocked they hadn't met before. Maret and Nicole hit it off right away and spent the rest of the night talking. They went on their first date the very next day and have been inseparable ever since. See the timeline below to see what their life has been like since the night that changed their worlds! &lt;3

Cole is my brilliant, empathetic, and absolutely hysterical younger brother. It's difficult to put into words the incredible man Cole is and what his unwavering support has meant to me throughout my life, but there is quite frankly no chance I would be where I am today without him. He has been there for me through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and the opportunity to share this moment with him is something that either of us probably wouldn't have thought possible a few short years ago. I can't wait to celebrate this day with Cole by my side, and I am truly lucky to be related by blood to this goon ;)

Cole Schwab

Brittany is my beautiful, amazing sister. We may be sisters by blood but I would choose her as my best friend every day. She is a ball of sassiness, kindness, and lots of intelligence in a very small package. I know I can always count on Brittany for her love and candid honesty. She has always had my back even when I drove her crazy. I'm so happy with how close we have become in life and I appreciate her more than she will ever know. I am so excited to have her by my side on this special day and every day in the future navigating life.

I met Scarff in my first weekend at Cal, and we have been fast friends ever since. Beyond the college debauchery and countless inside jokes, Scarff has been one of the most loyal, considerate, and caring people I've had the pleasure of calling my friend. Like Cole, Scarff has remained by my side even in my worst moments, and that to me speaks volumes about the man he is. Since Scarff knew both Nicole and I well before we knew each other, we felt he was the natural choice to be our officiant, and we're so excited that he will be the one to tie the knot between Nicole and I.

Madeline and I have been friends since we met in 6th grade. We have gone through all the awkward stages in life together, all the smiles and tears, and I can always count on her. She is in her OBGYN residency and always amazes me with how hard she works while also being such a loving friend. We've always been able to depend on each other no matter how long it has been since we last spoke and we will absolutely be friends for the rest of our lives. I know we'll be texting each other about everything in life until we're 80! I can't imagine what our 6th grade selves would say about us getting to celebrate this special day with her by my side!

Madeline Abuelafiya

Will and I grew up together, and although we lived halfway across the country from each other, we managed to stay close. We spent many summers as campers and, eventually, staff members together at a sleep-away camp in Massachusetts, and bonded over wakeboarding, Pond Hill loops, soccer, waterskiing, and whist. Every time we reconnect, it feels like nothing has changed, and I've always appreciated Will's down-to-earth outlook on life. Needless to say, I'm so excited to have Will standing by my side on the day I say I do.

Will Lewis

Colleen and I met while interning at Edwards and we always look back and laugh because at the time she really didn't like me! We ended up spending more time together when we both came back to Edwards full time and became fast friends. Colleen is such an amazing, supportive friend and also has such an hysterical, dry sense of humor. Although she moved to Ireland and I miss her dearly, I love our FaceTime catch ups. I can't wait for her to move back so we can go back to our movie and dinner nights where we talk about nothing and everything! I'm so looking forward to Colleen being by my side for this special day!

Colleen Motoyasu

I had the pleasure of growing up with Noah alongside Cole and I, since he spent much of his childhood in Colorado. Noah is equal parts goofy, sensitive, intelligent, and hilarious, and he has the ability to light up a room. I value Noah's fierce loyalty and no nonsense outlook on life, and when him and Cole get together, I find that I won't stop laughing for hours. Noah and I were a bit of hooligans back in our day, and I will always cherish the memories we made together (especially when we didn't get caught). Noah helped make me the man I am today, and I couldn't be more stoked to have Noah by my side on this huge day!

Nicolette and I met in late 2017 during our first year at Edwards. Nicolette, Sabrina, and I were like three peas in a pod and I was so happy we became such close friends. I can always count on Nicolette for a random FaceTime, a casual Sunday brunch talking about life, or a nice walk on the bay. Our friendship is one that always feels easy and I always appreciate how honest and caring Nicolette is. She also is a damn good time if you're looking to party! I so appreciate Nicolette's ability to be so supportive even when she's at her busiest, it truly feels like a superpower. I feel so blessed to have her supporting me as a friend all the time, but especially on this momentous occasion!

Nicolette Dworkin

Julian is my oldest friend, as we met before either of us had even started kindergarten. He is hands down the smartest person I've ever met...although sometimes his common sense concerns me a bit (mostly kidding). All jokes aside, Julian and I could be literally worlds apart and not talk for years, and the second we see each other again it's as if nothing at all has changed. There's something to be said for friendship that completely transcends distance and time, and I'm lucky enough to have that with Julian. Simply put, there are few people in this world I trust more, or feel as comfortable with, than him. I've known Julian would be one of my groomsmen since I was in middle school, and the fact that he'll be standing next to me on my wedding day is almost surreal.

Sabrina and I also met in late 2017 during our first year at Edwards, where we spent a lot of time together and became closer and closer. It is actually such a small world because Sabrina and I were both born in a small suburb near Miami, Florida at the same hospital. What are the chances?! I adore Sabrina. We can talk about reality TV and Taylor Swift all day every day. She also is the only person I know that appreciates a good glass of rose as much as I do. I also know I can always depend on Sab (not just to drink rose with haha). We always get each other and how our emotions work and it is so nice having a friend I can relate to so well. No matter how busy we get, I know I can always talk to Sab and it will feel like no time has passed. Looking back on all the times I've leaned on Sab, it feels so right to have her by my side on the day I marry the love of my life.

Sabrina Greenberg

Jace is another one of my oldest friends. I grew up with him in Colorado, and throughout the years we played football together, debated together, locked horns in Texas Hold 'Em, made our own moonshine, and made too many other memories to count. Jace has always been an incredible friend, providing me with sound advice when I needed to hear it and always refraining from judging me, no matter how far down the rabbit hole I was. Jace still knows how to have a hell of a time (which I expect to see on my wedding night), and it's honestly crazy that one of the guys that was in my first grade class will be standing next to me when I marry the love of my life.

Jace Conflenti

Hannah and I met in 2018 on a Birthright trip to Israel. We hit it off immediately and easily had genuine, open conversations about our lives back home. She is such a great listener. We got super lucky that she decided to go to dental school in Utah, where I was traveling frequently for work, and we were able to spend a lot of time together and grow our friendship to become best friends. Hannah is such a protective, loving friend and so thoughtful. I'm so excited that she just graduated dental school and is moving to Orange County so we'll be able to see each other even more! Hannah is always looking out for me and I can't wait to have her in my bridal party for this special day!

I met Seacrust through Scarff some time after I graduated from college (let's be honest, it was a bit of a haze for me back then lol). We initially met online and I was immediately drawn to him...it probably had something to do with his absolutely terrible sense of humor. Jokes aside, Seacrust will be someone I have the privilege of calling my friend for the rest of my life. His love for his friends and family is palpable, and he is the type of person who would do absolutely anything he could to help someone he cares about. Seacrust and his family have shown me an unbelievable amount of kindness and generosity in the time that I have known them, and there is something to be said for just genuinely good human beings like Seacrust.

Ryan Garcia

Justine and I first met in 2018 but we really got to know each other better when I was traveling frequently to Utah for work. We bonded over all things Bachelor and Bachelorette, and the way we clicked just felt effortless. I love my friendship with Justine, it is so natural and we always pick up like no time has passed. I always appreciate how honest Justine is. She'll always go the extra mile for her friends and she's incredibly loyal and kind. The similarities between her husband and Maret are so funny and leave us constantly laughing when sharing stories.  I see lots of fun couples trips and (of course) girls' trips in our future :) It feels so perfect and fitting to get to stand by each other's sides when we each marry our goofballs!

Justine Goebel

Bryce's mom and my mom were childhood best friends, and when I finally got to meet Bryce, we hit it off immediately. We are both incredibly loud and incredibly stubborn, so being around us likely isn't fun for anyone else, but we have one hell of a good time. Bryce is another one of those people who just has a genuinely good heart; he's fiercely loyal to his people and he is incredibly firm in his convictions. Although we live in different states, Bryce and I make a deliberate effort to either see each other or just touch base, and his wisdom and advice are two things I truly value about him. It's also absolutely obnoxious when he's right and I'm wrong (which is a lot of the time), but I imagine he probably feels the same way about me. It's crazy that Bryce will be by my side just as his mom was for my mom on her wedding day!

Bryce Sommer

Courtney and her boyfriend Brian joined our kickball team in early 2020 when they moved to Orange County, and we hit it off right away. I noticed myself always gravitating to Courtney at gatherings. She's one of those people that is impossible not to be friends with. As much as we could go out and party, my favorite nights with Courtney are sitting on the couch, drinking wine, talking about the most random things you could imagine. If you need a new reality show recommendation, Court is your girl. She and Brian moved back to Ohio but we've stayed close and I couldn't imagine what my life would look like without Courtney in it. She is such an absolute sweetheart and I am so excited she'll be next to me for the best day of my life!

Courtney Turnbull

Although I haven't known Charlie as long as the rest of my groomsmen, in the short time I have known him, I have come to look up to him. Charlie is an incredible father to two absolutely adorable kids, and, from what little I see, the way him and Britt juggle everything life throws at them is miraculous. Charlie also has a wicked, dry sense of humor that only comes from New England, and whether it be putting together a grill or playing cornhole, Charlie and I always have a good time.  I look forward to getting to call him my brother-in-law.

My sweet, sweet niece and nephew will be our flower girl and ring bearer. (Don't worry, we won't give him the real rings! :) They are the sweetest kiddos and bring us so much joy. We couldn't have our special day without them there to help us down the aisle. Cassidy might be confused since she already calls him Uncle Maret. Can't wait to see her flower tossing skills! <3

Venue Location

Our venue is located in beautiful Mendocino County. It is about a 3 1/2 hour drive north of San Francisco. For those traveling from Southern California, you can either drive the whole way and make a road trip out of it or follow the airport recommendations below.

Preferred Airports

There are many flights to the Sacramento airport with good prices. They also have an easy shuttle to their rental car area. This airport is about 3 hr 30 min from Fort Bragg or 3 hr 50 min from Westport.

Sacramento International Airport

Oakland is also a great, easy airport. It is a 3 hr 30 min drive to Fort Bragg but there is a toll road. It is 3 hr 50 min to Westport.

Oakland International Airport

The easiest airport is by far the Sonoma County Airport because it is very small and a shorter drive but it has less flights. This airport is 2 hr 20min from Fort Bragg and 2hr 40min from Westport.

Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport

If you cannot find a good flight into the other airport options, San Francisco is also another option to fly into with a lot of flights. We are listing it last because there is a lot of traffic. We would not recommend landing here around rush hour if you plan to hop straight in the car to drive north. This airport is about 3 hr 30 min from Fort Bragg (without traffic) or 3 hr 50 min from Westport.

Driving Directions

From any of the airports, we recommend taking 101 North to the 128 to PCH for the drive. Please note the portion on 128 and PCH is not well lit and has some winding curves so we'd recommend planning to do this during the daytime if you are a nervous driver. There's a beautiful view and you can enjoy it more in the daytime as well!

Preferred Accommodations

At this time, we believe all walking distance properties in Westport have been booked for our wedding weekend.   If not staying in Westport, Fort Bragg has a ton of options and we will be offering a shuttle for the short 20-25 minute drive to and from Westport for the ceremony & reception on Saturday so everyone can safely enjoy the festivities. Please stay to the north of Fort Bragg on the side closest to Westport or near the middle for easy access to our shuttle pickup points. A few hotel options are listed below but please pick whatever you'd like :)   Check out Air BnB and VRBO for house options. There are also lots of super cute inns and BnBs if you'd prefer a hotel room.

This is a nice beachside lodge on the north side of Fort Bragg. It is about a 20min drive from the venue and will be one of the pickup locations for the shuttle to the ceremony.

Ocean View Lodge

Similar to the one above, this lodge is also beachside and on the north side of Fort Bragg so you'll be a short 20min drive away from the venue and will be one of the pickup locations for the shuttle to the ceremony.

Surf and Sand Lodge

This is a great option in Fort Bragg and a bit more budget friendly than the two above. It is also near the north side of the town, super clean, and a short walk to the beachside if wanting to walk over. We stayed here during one of our venue visits and thought it was great! Note: The location of this inn is across the street from a cemetery.

The Beach House Inn

Pickups will be around 2pm in Fort Bragg and shuttles will be cycling in the evening starting around 9:30pm so guests can choose when they'd like to leave. Please do not plan on using any Rideshare apps. They are pretty much non-existent in these lovely small towns. When RSVPing, mark whether you would like to take the shuttle so we can finalize numbers and send out details to the appropriate people.

Walking from Westport

Please see walking path on parking diagram below. If walking from Westport, walk down PCH (1 / Shoreline Hwy) to Pacific Ave to the lawn parking entrance and take the walking trail through the barn area to the main property. Please do not walk to the front of the property on PCH!

Parking

Parking will be available on property for all events but primarily intended for Friday's Welcome Party and Sunday's Farewell Brunch.   For the ceremony on Saturday, please plan to use the shuttle if possible as we would like to minimize the traffic at the venue for our vendors and ensure safe transportation for all guests!   Do not park on Pacific Coast Highway (1) or the driveway of the property! Thank you!   See the picture below - if coming from Fort Bragg, you will be driving north on PCH (1) and make a left onto Pacific Ave and the parking area entrance will be on your left. There is a walking trail through the barn area to the property from there, please do not walk on PCH (1).

Westport Headlands Park

Hike (more like leisurely stroll) the Fort Bragg Coastal Trail. It is about 5 miles along the coast and super beautiful views the whole way. This would be a great Saturday activity before the wedding if you're up for it :)

Coastal Trail

Walk pudding creek trestle! It's a really pretty bridge with lovely views and in a lot of pictures for Fort Bragg. It's about 500 feet long and over 100 years old.

If you enjoy touring gardens, make a trip to the Mendocino botanical gardens! They are usually open 9-5 during the week and 9-6 on the weekends. It can get a bit busy so consider buying tickets in advance. 2023 prices for general admission are currently $20

Places to Eat & Drink

This place is STUNNING! They are right on the water and offer delicious wine tastings and wine by the glass as well as yummy snackies. Check out their website but they usually offer tastings 12-5pm Thursday thru Sunday.

Pacific Star Winery

Yum yum yummy coffee! You can tell walking up to this place on a weekend morning that it is the place to be. They have amazing coffee and pastries for a morning treat! Cash only! ATM on property if needed.

Headlands Coffeehouse

This pub is on the first floor of one of the two hotels in Westport. It has yummy food and drinks! They're open Thursday thru Sunday from 5-9pm.

Old Abalone Pub

Super yummy pizza and drinks in Fort Bragg. We LOVE this spot whenever visiting the venue. They have such yummy pizza and it is a great casual hangout spot! We do plan to have their pizza at the welcome party but you can always go visit yourselves for seconds. Cash only! ATM on property if needed.

Piaci | Pub & Pizzeria

Lunch at this little cafe in Mendocino is so yummy and it is such a CUTE place! Inside is so pretty and they also have tables in their garden outside. It’s 40 min from Westport and 20 min from Fort Bragg so a little out of the way but definitely worth visiting if you have some extra time or are staying for an extra day or two!
