Our History

Picture of Our History

Brian and I met in college at the University of Rhode Island. Little did I know, that the guy I met sophomore year, who quickly became one of my best friends, would become the love of my life. Throughout college, Brian and I had a wonderful relationship. He was a great friend and was always someone I could count on. Always concerned about ruining an amazing friendship, our relationship did not progress past that point. Although we were just friends, there was always a special bond between us. We remained close for the years after graduation.

The Beginning of an Amazing Relationship

Everything changed in June 2013. Brian had asked me to join him as his date for his sister, Amy's, wedding. Although I was hesitant, I agreed to attend, as his friend. About halfway through the rehearsal dinner, I knew that my intention of "just friends" was quickly escaping my mind. I was surprisingly comfortable in his world, and enjoyed getting to know the Czarnowski family.

The following day, I arrived at the wedding and was so anxious and excited to see Brian and spend this memorable day with him. He looked incredibly handsome. We had a wonderful time dancing and talking. That evening, and my entire world, changed when he kissed me. It was a kiss like no other and I knew I was about to begin an amazing journey with an amazing man.

The Proposal

Last Christmas, Brian took a picture of my family, all 15 of us! This year, we decided to take another picture. After about 10 minutes of gathering my family outside, we were ready. Brian took a few pictures of the group. I mentioned how I wanted Brian in the picture with us. Tori ran up and immediately volunteered to take one including Brian. After a couple of pictures were taken, I expressed that I was not happy with the situation and wanted everyone in the picture. Although Tori protested, I ran inside to get something to set up my camera on. My aunt and I searched for a while, and ended up finding a ladder. We returned and set up the camera. I took a few pictures to make sure the self-timer worked properly. I got back in with the group and was happy that my stubbornness paid off. Just as the flash was about to go off, I saw Brian get down on his knee. I immediately burst into tears. It was the single most amazing moment of my life. I agreed to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and my family was there to witness it all.
