Matthew and Nicole met in August 2015 during band camp as members of the Marching Mizzou trumpet section. They started dating in April 2018.

How We Met

A 2-week trip to Scotland and London! Nicole wanted to visit her old college roommate, Shannon, who was finishing up her Masters in History and explore more of Europe. Even though Matthew and Nicole had only been dating for a year, they took the trip together to explore Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London!

Most Memorable Trip 

Matthew planned to propose in Las Vegas after a food tour of 3 top restaurants on the Vegas Strip and a helicopter ride, but he was worried about losing the ring through TSA. He popped the question during a party at Nicole's parents' on October 29, 2022.

Our Proposal

Matthew and Nicole are living in Columbia, Missouri with their two cats - Stella Bella and Lilly Bear.

Bread & Salt Presentation

This Polish tradition usually takes place after the wedding ceremony when the newlyweds arrive at the reception venue. It symbolizes the union of the bride and groom and their families. With the bread, the parents hope that their children will never be hungry or in need. With the salt, they are reminding the couple that their life may be difficult at times, and they must learn to cope with life's struggles together.&nbsp;

Singing "Sto Lat"

"Sto Lat (100 years)" is a traditional Polish song that is sung&#160;to express good wishes, good health, and long life to the newlyweds.

Known for its Spanish-inspired architecture and upscale shopping, the Country Club Plaza is a popular destination due to its charming atmosphere, unique boutiques, and excellent dining options.

Founded in 1887, J. Rieger &amp; Co survived closing during Prohibition and continues to provide guided tours at the 130+ year old location and tastings of whiskeys, vodka, midwestern dry gin, and caffè amaro. Part of Matthew's 25th birthday was celebrated here with Nicole, Matthew's sister, Amanda, and brother-in-law, Ben!

J. Rieger & Co.

Founded in 1989, Boulevard Brewing Company has grown to become the largest specialty brewer in the Midwest. Along with the first beer, Boulevard Pale Ale, the Beer Hall serves 24 beers on tap. The tours provide a wonderful overview of the history and a sampling of several beers. Matthew and Nicole took their first tour while looking for the perfect wedding venue!

The National World War I Museum and Memorial opened in 1926 as the Liberty Memorial. In 2004, it was designated by Congress as America's official war memorial and museum dedicated to WWI.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is renowned for its extensive art collection with impressive exhibits containing art from nearly every continent and culture and a beautiful outdoor sculpture park. Admission is free.
