Indoor or Outdoor Wedding?

The ceremony will be held outside, and the reception will be in the Rockwoods banquet hall. In the event of poor weather conditions, both the ceremony and reception will take place in the banquet hall of Rockwoods.

What time should I be there?

Guests should plan to arrive at Rockwoods by 4pm, and find their way to the ceremony space. The ceremony will begin at 4:30pm, so please try to be in your seat by this time.

Hotels

We have a coupon code for discounted room rates at the Wyndham Garden Ostego, conveniently located next door to Rockwoods. The coupon is good for 15% off the best available daily rate. For reservations call 763-656-4400 or visit www.wgotsego.com. Rate code name: Varney/Miller Wedding for calls and rate code: LPVM for online reservations. Coupon code is only valid for use on 07/11/2026-07/12/2026 To explore other hotel options, please visit the "travel" section of this website.

Open Bar?

Let’s Talk Drinks 🍷 We’d love to offer a full open bar… but we also love sticking to a budget (weddings are wild, y’all). Here’s what you can expect: 🍺 Beer and wine? On the house. Sip and enjoy! 🥤 Soft drinks? Unlimited and free. Stay refreshed! 🥃 Liquor and cocktails? Available for purchase at the bar. We can’t wait to raise a glass (or two) with you—cheers to good times ahead!

Transportation and Parking

Getting There & Getting Home 🚗🚐 Rideshare options (Uber, Lyft, etc.) may be limited near the venue, especially late at night. If you plan to use a rideshare, we recommend booking your ride a few days in advance. Guests who plan to enjoy alcohol are strongly encouraged to arrange their transportation ahead of time. Please note, we will not be providing shuttle service, as there is a hotel conveniently located next to the venue with a special discount code. For those driving, parking is available in the Rockwoods lot. Overnight parking is allowed—just be sure to pick up your car the following day.

Kids

Kids are welcome at both the ceremony and the reception! That said, as mentioned on our homepage, we kindly ask that if your little one becomes restless or vocal during the ceremony or key moments (like speeches or first dances), you step away briefly so they can decompress. We’ll have the bridal suite available as a quiet space for kids who need a break—it’s equipped with a comfy sofa and chairs for everyone’s comfort.

Phones/Devices

Ceremony Etiquette 📵 We kindly ask that all guests silence or turn off their phones and refrain from using devices during the ceremony. We want to keep this moment as intimate and distraction-free as possible. Don’t worry—you won’t miss a thing! We’ll have a professional photographer and videographer capturing all the special moments, so you can relax, be present, and soak it all in. Reception Fun 📸 Once the party starts, feel free to break out your phones! We encourage guests to take photos and videos during the reception. To make sharing easy, each table will have a QR code you can scan to upload your favorite shots from the night. We can’t wait to see the celebration through your eyes!

Plus Ones

Plus One Policy 💕 Due to the size of our guest list on both sides of the family, we do have limited space for plus ones. When you go to RSVP, you’ll be able to see whether you’ve been allocated a guest. If so, under your name it will read: “[Your Name]’s Guest” We truly wish we could extend a plus one to everyone, and we appreciate your understanding. If you haven’t been given a guest and would like to request one, please feel free to reach out to Nick or me (Nikki) by June 13, 2026—one week after the RSVP deadline. Depending on our final headcount, we may be able to accommodate your request if space allows. Thanks so much for your grace and understanding—we’re so excited to celebrate with you!

What should I wear?

Attire: Cocktail / Casual Dress up if you’re feeling it—love that for you! But no need to go full Met Gala. Keeping it casual? Totally fine, just skip the ripped jeans, gym wear, hoodies, or anything you'd nap in. Look good, feel good. See you there!
