Our Wedding

3, 2, 1, GO! This phrase has defined our relationship. The past 3 years have been spent doing things that neither of us ever expected we could or would do. From new jobs, to traveling, to planning a wedding, it has been a whirlwind! But being in this life together has given us the confidence to do anything we set our minds to. As I was making my way back into the world after being a homebody following COVID, Brett and I started striking up conversations at our local gym. Our small conversations started with Brett trying to help me fix the TV on my treadmill so that I could watch the Pitt Football game and eventually lead to "Sooo see ya out tonight, yeah?!" You would laugh if I told you how many conversations, phone calls, and changes of mind that I went through before deciding to go. When Brett opened the door for me and we walked in together, I just remember thinking, "oh, this feels good". We sat and talked for hours as I sipped on the same drink the entire time. After that night, I never imagined what the next two years would hold. We explored 6 different states together and experienced our dearest friends and family members getting married. Each trip made our relationship grow stronger as we worked together to book flights, hotels, rental cars, and plan our itineraries. On October 15, 2023 Brett handed me a booklet titled "3, 2, 1, GO". As I flipped through and reminisced on each adventure, the tears started flowing. He then got down on one knee overlooking the water steps in Pittsburgh where I had splashed in on many hot days as a kid on my way to the Pitt games. We cried happy tears together, FaceTimed our family and friends, and started planning our future. This life is going to continue to be filled with many adventures and I could not be any more excited to experience them with Brett by my side!

Nicole's Story

Now for the real juicy stuff, here is what actually happened.&nbsp;&nbsp;On a chilly, January evening in 2022, Nicole SHOCKED the world (mainly me) and ACTUALLY met me out for a drink.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was such a great evening of talking and laughing for hours.&nbsp;&nbsp;In fact, Nicole laughed so much that she only sipped on one drink the entire night.&nbsp;&nbsp;By the end of the night, I remember thinking that I kind of liked having Nicole by my side.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It was such a great night that night that one would think that this was when we became Nicole and Brett.&nbsp;&nbsp;WRONG!&nbsp;&nbsp;Nicole eventually put me in the dreaded “friendzone.”&nbsp;&nbsp;The friendzone is a dreaded word for many men (50 Cent pun intended).&nbsp;&nbsp;However, I am proud to say that I will happily stay in Nicole’s friendzone forever.&nbsp;&nbsp;Since that chilly, January evening in 2022, Nicole has become my best friend and most importantly, the love of my life.&nbsp;&nbsp; From horse and carriage rides in Charleston to taking selfies on top of Camelback Mountain, we have experienced so many “firsts” together.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are always looking forward to our next big adventure.&nbsp;&nbsp;If there is anything our relationship has taught me, it’s that comfort zones are meant to be broken.&nbsp;&nbsp;When one of us is feeling hesitant getting out of that comfort zone, we tell each other “3,2,1, GO!” It has become our motto and hearing it reminds us of all we have accomplished and will continue to accomplish, together!&nbsp;&nbsp;So, to beginning this next chapter, 3,2,1, GO!
