It was March, 2020, and the world had grown quiet, with everything paused in the stillness of a global pandemic.
It started with a match, a spark of connection amidst the stillness. Through the glow of a screen, we shared endless conversations, uncovering pieces of each other: shared values, cherished traditions, and the gentle hum of familiarity that felt like coming home.
Finally, on May 23, 2020, the world opened just enough for us to meet in person. Mario drove from Whitby to Burlington, and together, we wandered through Spencer Smith park for nine hours, lost in conversation and the quiet joy of each other’s company. There were no open restaurants or cafes, just a homemade cheesecake Nicole baked using her Nonna’s recipe—Mario’s favourite dessert. It was simple, yet perfect, a reflection of the love that was already taking root.
In the years that followed, our love grew, deepening with every moment we shared. Together, we built a love that is quiet yet profound, simple yet extraordinary.
Then, on December 1, 2024, Mario brought Nicole back to the place where it all began—Spencer Smith Park, downtown Burlington. Surrounded by the memories of our first date, Mario asked Nicole to be his forever.
For us, love has never needed grand gestures. It thrives in the quiet moments, the shared smiles, and the simple joy of just being together. Whether it’s a lazy Sunday at home or the laughter we share cooking dinner together, we’ve always found magic in the ordinary.
This is our love story, and it’s only just the beginning.
There will be a shuttle transporting guests between the hotel and the reception venue.
