How It All Started

We first met November 17, 2021 at RadBrat Brewery in Dana Point- just two nerds who were game for a casual trivia night with Kevin [best man] and Cristina [bridesmaid], our friends from Pursuit Catholic Young Adult group. That night was the catalyst for us becoming fast friends. We didn’t know it then, but we were sitting across from our future spouse! Nika thought Indigo was cute. Indigo asked Kevin later that night, “Sooo...what’s her story? is she single?”

Over the next year, we became great friends through hangouts with all our mutual friends. Then Nika got into medical school in Boise, ID so Indigo helped Nika pack her car for the roadtrip at the end of summer 2022, and off she went! That December, she came home for break, and we grabbed coffee. It was just two friends catching up… or so we thought. The vibes? Wonderful.

From Friendship to Something More, The Ice Cream that Changed Everything

In May 2023, Indigo stopped in Boise on the way to a wedding. Lunch turned into “Hey, want to grab ice cream?” two nights later—and that night changed everything. We talked about life, dreams, and discovered just how in sync we were. The spark was ignited.

Cue a sweet summer filled with pickleball, dancing at Swallows, and our first real date: a Midland concert at OC Fairgrounds on July 22, 2023. Just days later, Nika headed back to school, but we both knew—this was something worth pursuing.

Making It Official

October 20, 2023, Indigo came to visit Nika in Boise, and we took a road trip to his friend Tyler’s ranch in Oregon. That’s where he officially asked Nika to be his girlfriend! While long distance we always have managed to see each other about once per month with adventure/fun-packed weekends!

The Proposal

Fast forward to March 2025. Nika was presenting research in Boise, and afterward, we “just happened” to head up to Oregon again to "visit medical school friends and Indigo's friend." Behind the scenes, Indigo had teamed up with Alani [bridesmaid] and Tyler [groomsman] for the ultimate surprise. On Sunday, March 30, 2025, the girls joined Nika and Indigo for Sunday mass as an excuse for Nika to dress up cute. Afterwards at Tyler’s ranch, under a stormy sky and in front of a mountain backdrop, Indigo popped the question—and Nika said YES!

Our engagement season has been such a beautiful blessing, and our relationship filled with so much love. The two of us could not be more excited for you to join us to celebrate our big day on May 23, 2026!
