North Meets South

Our story begins in September of 2021 when Nikhil stumbled across Jancy on an online dating app. He left what he thought was the most magnificent and rizzfull message he's ever sent. He wrote, "you seem like my type" and he made sure not to forget the smiley face emoji.

Unfortunately for him, Jancy was at the brink of giving up on love and it was a painful 1 month later of no message back from Jancy. On Oct 1, 2021, Jancy decided to delete the app, but decided why the heck not, she'll check her messages one last time. In the corner of her eye, she saw a handsome man holding a little doggo. She was intrigued, however still skeptical. She didn't have very much luck in relationships in the past because the men used to be losers. However, Jancy felt something different about this guy. Maybe he was still a loser, but the dog in his profile picture was adorable. She thought, what do I have to lose? I'll send him a message. She wasn't expecting a reply because it's been over a month since he sent the message. However, Nikhil messaged back, and they bonded over art and their love for painting. They spoke about their future goals and found out they wanted many of the same things out of life. They also shared their deepest and darkest secrets together and an appreciation for how similar, yet how different they were. They both deleted the dating app soon after they started talking because something told them that this is the one.

Fast forward a year and a half, Jancy and Nikhil spoke every day since then through texts. However, never met in person yet. Jancy and Nikhil's friends were even questioning if the other person was real. It wasn't until Dec 20, 2022, when they finally met in person on their first date. They were both nervous but excited to finally meet. Even though it was their first time meeting, it felt like they've known each other for so long because they've been talking for a year and a half every day. They both ordered the same dish at the restaurant they went to, which was the shrimp alfredo at Joey Markville, and couldn't believe that they were actually there together finally! It felt so surreal for both of them. Even though they only spoke over texts, they both knew they had fallen head over heels for each other.

Things moved quickly once they met. They became a couple on the first day of meeting and even met each others parents the next day. However Jancy was shy and didn't know how to tell her mother that she met someone and that he's coming over, so she did what any sensible person would and just not say anything to her Mother. Clueless Nikhil walked into her home and Jancy's mother thought he was the delivery guy delivering chocolates, which is something he will never let her forget.

Jancy and Nikhil moved in together in 2023 in Kitchener, where Nikhil was working as a Paramedic, his apartment was small and falling apart, but they lived happily there and made many beautiful memories together. Jancy didn't care about a fancy lifestyle and flashy things and Nikhil adored this about her. During their time there, they played pool at the shady bar across the street and sampled the below average food Kitchener had to offer. Nikhil and Jancy went to the gym together to get fit. However, always promised to start their diet "tomorrow." During the winter they would ice skate together and in the summer both enjoyed rollerblading together.

Fast forward to May 1, 2024, Nikhil asked Jancy to go on a walk on the beach. Unbeknownst to her, he was about to pop the big question. They started the day off at a cute little bistro, where they had breakfast together and of course ordered the same thing. Nikhil talked about all the things he appreciated about Jancy. He mentioned that he's never met anyone like her. Jancy enjoyed Nikhil's dark sense of humor and Nikhil enjoyed Jancy's sarcastic sense of humor. It was time for the "walk on the beach." Nikhil brought his laptop with him and Jancy just thought Nikhil had some work to do and that's why he bought his laptop on a walk. Nikhil was also a random and odd character sometimes, so Jancy didn't put this past him. Bringing a laptop on a beach is something he would do. However, the reason was that he compiled a slide show of many beautiful moments they shared together on trips, outings, and funny moments. Nikhil told Jancy they should sit down for a break during their walk and showed her the slide show. Nikhil then got on one knee wearing his fashionable Jordan's and proposed on the beach. Jancy was completely surprised and ecstatic. She was even oblivious to Nikhil secretly getting her ring size from her nephew, who did an amazing job obtaining the information.
