We actually met in Atlanta in 2022 while we were both at Georgia Tech for an admitted PhD students visit weekend. At the time, we were both in undergrad at different schools (Manav at Georgia Tech and Nikita at UVA). Although we spent some time chatting on a bus ride during the weekend, neither of us thought much of the interaction and never expected to see the other again. This picture was taken a year later when we went back to Atlanta together to visit some of Manav's college friends.

Fast-forward 6 months and we were both surprised to see that the other had committed to Johns Hopkins for their PhD! We soon began spending time together as friends and developed feelings for each other. We eventually shared those feelings with the other and started dating in October! This picture is from one of our first few dates in Baltimore.

We spent the next few months exploring Baltimore/the surrounding area, taking trips together, cooking, hanging out with friends, and playing our favorite game, Monopoly Deal!

We both attended our first conference together at the Biomedical Engineering Society annual meeting. We also gave talks on our different research projects!

We took our first international trip together to Paris! We had so much fun visiting museums, eating lots of croissants, and playing Monopoly Deal.

We got engaged!!! Manav proposed at one of our favorite places, Harper's Ferry, WV. Afterwards, we celebrated with some friends and family.

We received our white coats, a tradition for all PhD students at the Johns Hopkins school of medicine who pass their qualifying exams.

We had an amazing visit to India where we spent time with Nikita and Manav's families in Chennai, Salem, Delhi, and Kochi.

We had a great engagement photo shoot at Fort McHenry in Baltimore and are so excited to see you in October!
