We are hopeful in being able to celebrate with approx. 100 of our closest friends and family on our big day! We will be keeping an eye on AHS guidelines and restrictions, and will make a decision at least one month prior to our September date if possible. If we are unable to be together in a safe way, our plan is to elope on our original date and re-schedule the party once it is safe to do so. Our venue is classified as outdoors, so we are feeling positive that we can celebrate this year!

Please note, that due to restricted numbers, we are unable to accommodate children as a part of your invitation. There are a few exceptions with our immediate families, but we sadly cannot have all of our favourite littles join.

Our Wedding

LOVE STORY: Nikki and Arthur met working at Northlands, planning events like K-Days, Farmfair and Canadian Finals Rodeo. Through that job, they got to see each other at their best and at their worst, and being friends first meant they started with a strong foundation for their relationship. Once they went ‘public,’ not a lot of people were surprised and their manager seemed to know it was coming for years before they even did! Almost five years later, and they are still best friends and miss working together every day. They have already started growing their family with the addition of Luna, their Saint Bernard, a couple of years ago and look forward to growing their little pack!&nbsp; PROPOSAL MOMENT: “We had plans to travel to Europe in 2021 which was where I was going to pop the question; however, with the uncertainty around travel and COVID-19, I decided I did not want to wait any longer. I began researching the most beautiful places to visit in Canada, and Tofino was on the list. We had never been that far west and we were due for a vacation. I knew it was important to capture this important life milestone, so I connected with Chelsea through Flytographer. The experience was exceptional as she helped me come up with a proposal strategy and, most importantly, pick a location that ended up being Frank Island, an absolutely stunning location where you access an island of rocks by crossing a narrow stretch of beach which can only be walked on when the tide is low. To be perfectly honest, I was as cool as a cucumber. This was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and I was overcome with a sense of ease. We held hands as we walked the beach towards Frank Island. We stepped onto the rocks and got as close as we could to the ocean. In hindsight, maybe not the best decision as the waves were so strong that they ended up splashing our pants! Needless to say, we found some higher ground and, soaked from the waist down, I got on one knee, popped the question, and Nikki said yes. In all honestly, I would not have changed a thing. How to get there

Obsidian Ridge is located about 30 minutes from south east Edmonton.Take Highway 14 east, turning South at Range Road 204. Go through the stop sign until you see 504, where you will make a left. It is the second driveway on the left - you will see the Obsidian Ridge sign! The venue will have parking attendants to help get to you to right parking lot or campsite.

Camping

Obsidian Ridge has a couple fantastic on-site camping options available to you! Tenting is in and amongst the trees behind the main event site, and there is a groomed lot for RVs. There is unfortunately no power or water available, but we hope that will work for you for one night! Generators are allowed. Travel & Lodging

Spanning 20 acres, Obsidian Ridge offers our guests lots of gorgeous outdoor space to explore. Lawn games will be available throughout the day, and a 12ft wide bonfire will ensure we can continue the celebrations late into the evening.

As a nod to our days working on K-Days together, we have opted to hire two local food trucks to serve us dinner.
