The Weekend

The plan so far...

We are so excited to have a wedding and gather so many of our favorite people in one place. Therefore - we're planning some informal festivities throughout the weekend to maximize the time we can all spend together. From the beginning

How we met

We met the first week of school at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania as we lived in the same dorm freshman year. Sam studied film, danced in student led dance shows, and played on the ultimate frisbee team. Nikki studied economics and played basketball. We spent countless hours hanging out as great friends around the dorm, with our respective (and awesome) roommates Krista and Camilo, and in the stairwell, during that first week. Then when Nikki was helping Sam with his laundry while he had an injured hamstring (the full extent of his inability to walk up and down stairs during this period is still in question), Sam kissed her, and the rest is history... or at least the reason why we will all be gathering on March 5th.Some of our favorite things:Traveling to destinations like Hungary and Kenya to visit good friendsPlaying ultimate, both on fun and competitive teamsBBQ's and hanging outSpending time with our families Camping, exploring, playing sports, learning new games Sam currently works at Stitch Labs, and is loving his role on the support team. He plays highly competitive ultimate frisbee on both club and professional teams, and recently won a silver medal at the World Club Championships in Italy. Sam enjoys all things sports, and is (and will always be) an avid Blazers fan.Nikki works in sales at Chute, and also serves on the board of directors for the Bay Area Disc Association. Nikki still finds the occasional pick-up basketball game to play in, but spends most of her time playing ultimate. She is proud to co-host the Fanya Further beach tournament with her friend Sarah, supporting the school she worked with in Kenya - Hamomi Children's Centre.

The proposal

The Proposal 

We were taking a vacation in the South of France, when Sam, lowered from a helicopter, rode in on a white horse, with trumpets playing in the air. As butterflies danced, Sam got down on one knee (on the Horse) and pulling out a 99 karat diamond ring said "Baby? You? Me? You wanna do this thing?" Nikki, barely able to stand after being swept over with emotion, utters a "yes." The rest is history.
